The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

Even after all this time, she hadn’t warmed up. Even though the air conditioning in the room made it quite comfortable, her feet were still cold, and her body felt chilled to the bone.

”It’s so cold back home! I never realized it before!”

Han Ning grew up here in Bei’an, but when she was in elementary school, her family moved to another city due to her parents’ job changes.

Over a decade later, she’s back visiting with her parents.

Her uncle Han Liang invited her to dine at a very famous old restaurant in the area, saying that family gatherings were always held here when she was young, and Han Ning had mentioned back then how much she loved the food here.

Han Ning doesn’t remember much of it now.

Mostly because her parents were always busy with work and social engagements, she often ate at various restaurants, so nothing stood out particularly in her memory.

It’s like this Qianlima Restaurant; if it wasn’t for Han Liang’s suggestion, she wouldn’t have thought of it at all.

Han Ning couldn’t help but complain: ”It’s way too cold here, I really don’t want to go outside. Just stepping out and getting hit by that cold wind, seriously, it’s like being flash-frozen. If I stay out longer, I’ll probably turn into a popsicle!”

Han Liang chuckled and said: ”I’m telling you, when it’s this cold, the best way to warm up, aside from relaxing at home, is to eat spicy seafood hotpot.”

”Their hotpot is authentic here! Unfortunately, they’re not serving it anymore; I haven’t had it in years. I didn’t think about it before, but seeing you today reminded me of it.”

”Back then, before your family moved, whenever I craved it, I’d call your dad to come out and treat me to dinner. Every winter, we’d come here to eat seafood hotpot.”

”The sauce they have, I don’t know how they make it, but it’s exceptionally fresh! Cooking while eating, it’s fragrant and spicy; oh, the satisfaction it brings, just thinking about it makes my mouth water!”

As Han Liang described it, an image suddenly flashed in Han Ning’s mind, and she vaguely began to recall.

”Uncle, is that seafood hotpot the one where you can add water and sauce after eating it to make a soup base and continue cooking like a hotpot?”

Han Liang smiled: ”Yes, that’s the one!”

Han Ning felt a bit more interested: ”I remember this dish was quite popular back then, why did it get discontinued?”

Han Liang shook his head: ”I don’t know, maybe it just became outdated. People’s tastes change so quickly nowadays! But the chefs in their kitchen haven’t changed, so it should still taste the same!”

”I know the owner, I’m very familiar with how things run in this place.”

Han Ning nodded: ”I see, a dish that’s been taken off the menu, and you just say you want it, and the kitchen makes it for you.”

Han Liang laughed: ”See, I’ve been friends with Dong Jun Tian for so many years, let me tell you...”
