Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 1999: Chapter 2009: The Hapless Quan Dongting Is Urged to Marry Again

Li Beijue, although not knowing why she suddenly mentioned this, still adhered to the principle of meeting the parents for the first time and answered obediently, ”Yes, I grew to like her more and more as we spent time together, until I couldn’t not like her.”

His voice was deep, speaking seriously, as if he were making a promise.

Old Lady Habsden looked at him with satisfaction, then immediately showed a triumphant expression and said to Quan Dongting, ”You see, no one likes a person right from the start. It takes time to get to know each other slowly and then develop mutual fondness. You haven’t even met the person, how do you know you won’t like them?”

”Mom...” Quan Dongting had a headache, and now his whole body was starting to hurt, ”I’m not interested...”

”You don’t have someone you like, so why aren’t you interested? If you’re not interested in women, then are you interested in men?” Old Lady Habsden said bluntly.

”That’s not what I mean.”

”Then what do you mean by that? You refuse to meet the person, you have to give me a reason. I no longer accept reasons like there’s no feeling unless you tell me you like men!”

”...”

”Speak, what’s the reason?”

Quan Dongting was really at his wit’s end, at his age, he still had to endure such scolding. But this was his mom, he could only endure it, ”I like men.”

The butler of the Habsden family stood by, silently lighting two candles for him in his heart.

Master Gong had been pushed by Old Madam to such an extent that he admitted to such a nonexistent thing in front of Young Master Li.

But he understood Old Madam more because she indeed couldn’t allow Master Gong to delay any longer at her age. If Master Gong continued to delay, Old Madam might really never hold a grandson.

He originally thought that since Master Gong admitted to ’liking men’ in front of Young Master Li, Old Madam would let Master Gong off this time. However, unexpectedly, Old Madam didn’t even bat an eye before saying, ”Alright then, who do you like? Bring him back. After all, marriage between same-sex couples is allowed in Country T. Bring him back and I’ll acknowledge it.”

Quan Dongting was really being pushed to the brink. If Li Beijue hadn’t been present, he would have fled by now, ”Mom...”

Old Lady Habsden looked at him, first turned her head away angrily, pretending not to hear. Then she turned back and said, ”I don’t know what you’re thinking, but, you’re not young anymore. In this circle, people of your age are basically married, and their kids can buy soy sauce now. I don’t have high demands for you, at least you should find someone to marry. You can’t keep living alone like this.”

Quan Dongting could feel her helplessness and lowered his head, ”I understand.”

Old Lady Habsden, regardless of whether she believed him or not, let him off, ”Alright, anyway, remember to meet others, I’ve already made arrangements for you.”

”...I’ll try to find some time.” Quan Dongting gave in a little, compromising.

”When is ’try’? My visit to Rainy City this time is not just to meet my grandson-in-law, but also to closely supervise your blind dates! Don’t just say things to deceive me, I won’t fall for it again. This time, I’m following you around, only after seeing you properly meet others will I leave!”

”Mom...” Quan Dongting was completely overpowered, especially with the old grandma clutching her chest as if she would fall to the ground immediately if he didn’t explain himself clearly. He rubbed his temples in frustration and said, ”Tomorrow, I’ll make time at noon.”
