Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 1390: Chapter 1390: Huo Yi Walks in at the Worst Possible Moment

”Miss Chi, I’ve called the doctor over...” Huo Yi’s voice abruptly stopped and changed to, ”Sorry, Miss Chi, I didn’t know Master Jue was awake. I’ll leave immediately.”

Chi Enen’s cheeks turned bright red, her earlobes so hot they felt like they were burning. She quickly sprang up and tried to explain, ”It’s not what it looks like, I...”

Huo Yi interrupted her with a look that said ’I know, I understand, I won’t say anything,’ and said righteously, ”Don’t worry, Miss Chi, I understand. Master Jue just woke up, I can understand your feelings.”

Chi Enen, ”...”

Li Beijue rarely got to see her face flushed and embarrassed like this. In good spirits, he said to Huo Yi, ”Let them in.”

Huo Yi dared not be as casual with him as he was with Chi Enen and immediately said respectfully, ”Yes, Master Jue.”

The doctor in a white lab coat came in, glanced at Chi Enen before entering, but quickly pretended to look away nonchalantly.

His attempt to act nonchalant only made him seem even more conspicuous.

Chi Enen knew her mouth was on her own face, yet she felt inexplicably incapable of explaining.

She realized that instead of rushing to explain now, it would be better to let it go, to prevent making it messier.

But actually admitting it made her feel stifled.

As she was feeling frustrated, the doctor had already done a simple medical checkup on the person on the sickbed and removed the stethoscope, saying, ”Young Master Li is recovering very well. It’s the first time I’ve seen someone with such a good constitution as Young Master Li. Normally, with this kind of injury, Young Master Li would wake up tomorrow at the earliest. I didn’t expect Young Master Li to wake up so quickly.”

”How long do I need to stay?” Li Beijue wasn’t interested in hearing this; he was more concerned about it.

The doctor thought for a moment and said, ”At least three days of observation. After three days, if the photo shows no problems, you can be discharged. But it’s still advisable to rest for ten days to half a month after being discharged, wait for the wounds to heal before working.”

Now he knew Li Beijue’s identity and how much every minute of this man’s time was worth.

So he didn’t make strict demands but gave a gentle suggestion instead.

”Especially the head wound; since it’s on the head, it requires more rest, try to use your brain less.”

Li Beijue furrowed his eyebrows and only then realized there seemed to be something wrapped around his head, frowning almost into a knot. He squinted at the doctor, ”Ten days to half a month?”

”At least ten days to half a month, or even if the wound scabs over, it’s still very likely to break open.”

Li Beijue’s thin lips pressed into a straight line, his handsome face full of impatience.

He couldn’t possibly lie in bed for ten days to half a month. Not to mention anything else, the fact that Chi Enen was held hostage hadn’t been investigated yet.

If he stayed in the hospital, there was no guarantee the other party wouldn’t strike again.

What would this woman do if he wasn’t around then?

Just the thought of Chi Enen possibly encountering the same danger again made his chest feel clogged and inexplicably irritable. He asked the doctor, ”Can it be faster?”

The doctor was only responsible for healing, not performing miracles. Surprised by the question, he paused, then said, ”Well... there’s probably no way. It really depends on individual health, but when I said ten days to half a month, that was already under quick recovery circumstances.”

For others, he would certainly suggest bed rest for at least a month.

”I recommend resting for at least ten days to half a month. Of course, if Young Master Li is truly busy, you can spare an hour for work each day.”
