Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 1054: Chapter 1054: Let Chi Enen Take Scarlett Around the Li Family House

Old Master Li seemed to only just notice there was someone beside him. He turned to look at her, his deep, inscrutable gaze giving away nothing of his thoughts. He simply said, ”Miss Chi is a guest of the family.”

Scarlett had casually asked the question, not expecting Chi Enen to still be considered a guest.

In her view, Chi Enen was at most either a servant or a private nurse hired to care for the Old Master’s health, which explained her presence here.

But surprisingly, she was instead a guest.

Still... why would a guest appear at such an important occasion?

Scarlett’s beautiful almond-shaped eyes sized up Chi Enen, a faint air of scrutiny lingering in her gaze. She thought she had concealed it well, but the hostility in her eyes was still keenly noticed by Chi Enen.

Chi Enen instantly understood the Old Master Li’s purpose in bringing her here—he wanted to put her in her place!

Just yesterday, she had told the Old Master that regardless of whether he accepted her or not, she would not leave Li Beijue. And today, the Old Master had brought her along to meet this gorgeous, charming princess who clearly had feelings for Li Beijue. If this wasn’t a power play, then what was?

Chi Enen felt a headache coming on but maintained her composure without being impolite. She politely greeted, ”Your Highness.”

Scarlett instinctively felt a dislike for her but still managed to return a smile. She quickly shifted her attention to Old Master Li, coquettishly saying, ”This is my first time at the Li family estate. Grandpa Li, could you give me a tour?”

Old Master Li didn’t need to think about it. ”I have a meeting to attend right now. How about this: I’ll ask Miss Chi and the butler to accompany you for a tour.”

Although disappointed that he wouldn’t be joining her, Scarlett didn’t push too hard. ”Alright, Grandpa Li, go ahead. I’ll manage the tour myself.”

Old Master Li didn’t linger for long and soon went upstairs.

The Old Butler followed his instructions, bowing slightly to Scarlett and asking politely, ”Your Highness, would you like to begin the tour?”

Scarlett’s true intention had been to have the Old Master accompany her personally. On one hand, she could make a better impression, and on the other, if the Old Master found it inconvenient or didn’t wish to go himself, etiquette would usually dictate that the other master of the castle should accompany her. That way, she might have an opportunity to see him.

Unexpectedly, Old Master Li didn’t follow the usual norms. Not only did he refuse to go with her, but he also didn’t arrange for that person to accompany her.

She didn’t feel like going anymore, but considering she had made her way here, she gritted her teeth and said, ”Of course. Please lead the way.”

”Certainly. Please follow me, Your Highness,” said the Old Butler, stepping forward. Suddenly, he stopped and turned to Chi Enen beside him, speaking kindly and familiarly, ”Miss Chi, join us.”

His gaze was warm and caring, to which Chi Enen responded with a radiant smile and followed along, saying, ”Alright.”

Watching their interaction, Scarlett’s eyebrows furrowed deeply. Her previous scrutinizing gaze now fixed on Chi Enen again, filled with even deeper suspicion.

Hadn’t Old Master Jue said she was just a guest?

If she was merely a guest, why would she be asked to lead her around?

And why was the family’s Old Butler showing such familiarity and kindness toward her?

Scarlett found it strange, and her hostility toward Chi Enen became even more apparent. She already silently labeled Chi Enen as someone she didn’t like.

Chi Enen, unaware that she had done nothing yet had already been categorized as a disliked person by this distinguished princess, followed alongside the Old Butler. She listened as the Old Butler vividly recounted the grand history of the castle, from its origins to the legacy of the Li family. His explanations were so detailed that it felt less like they were meant for the princess behind them and more for her. It was as if he wanted her to understand the Li family more deeply...
