Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 987: Chapter 987: If You Don’t Come Back, I’ll Come Looking for You

He agreed... Chi Enen let out a breath of relief, her eyebrows softening. While she didn’t seem threatening, she radiated an unyielding strength. ”I won’t back down. Never.”

For him, for Baby Chi, for Nuonuo—she would never back down!

She would face the Old Master head-on!

She would earn his approval!

”Huo Yi, go make the preparations.”

Huo Yi immediately responded, ”I’ll take care of it right away.”

Li Beijue’s thin lips pressed tightly together. Even as he instructed Huo Yi to prepare, he was already regretting agreeing to bring Chi Enen along just now.

But since he had made the promise, he wouldn’t go back on his word!

...

One hour later, beneath the private jet.

Baby Chi clung tightly to Chi Enen’s clothes, his cool little face clouded with frustration and anger. He was clearly upset, ”Chi Enen, I’ll wait for you no more than a week. If you don’t come back within a week, I’ll come find you!”

”Okay.”

Baby Chi still wasn’t satisfied. His little face was stiff, and his eyes—mirroring a certain someone’s—were full of frustration. ”Chi Enen, you’re a scammer, a big scammer. Didn’t you say you wouldn’t leave me? From now on, I’ll never believe you again!”

Chi Enen quickly picked him up, whispering gently, ”I’ll only be gone for a week. One week, and I’ll come back. Don’t be angry, being angry isn’t cool.”

”Looking cool doesn’t fill your stomach!” Baby Chi snorted, even though he knew no matter how much he said, Chi Enen wouldn’t stay. Begrudgingly, he softened his expression and muttered, ”I’ll take care of Nuonuo, make sure no one bullies her...”

”You need to take care of yourself too. Remember to drink milk every day. I’ll call Butler Huo to check if you’ve been good. You can also call me.”

”I won’t call you!” Baby Chi said decisively, his tone making it seem like he truly wouldn’t. But a second later, he faltered, ”Fine, if I feel like it, I might call you.”

Why was their genius son so contradictory, always saying one thing and meaning another? Chi Enen pinched his little cheek and spoke softly, ”Baby Chi, you must remember to call me. If you don’t, I’ll call you.”

This last sentence managed to appease the little guy who had been pouting like a soy sauce jar all along. Though his face showed disdain, the corner of his mouth curled up in anticipation—it was obvious he was looking forward to it.

With Chi Enen’s promise to call him every day, Baby Chi finally let go of her hand generously. He trotted back to Huo Yi’s side but didn’t forget to remind her, ”Chi Enen, you said it—a week. You must come back. Remember, you must come back. If you don’t, I’ll come find you! I mean it!”

Chi Enen was heading off to meet his grandfather, and from The Neighbor Old Wang’s attitude, Baby Chi could sense that his grandfather wasn’t easy to deal with. Chi Enen was so clueless—what if she was bullied? And he wouldn’t be there with her. If he were there, he could help smooth things over with his grandfather.

Still, he wanted to stay. Even though he couldn’t bear leaving his woman, he was the older brother, and he needed to take care of Nuonuo. With The Neighbor Old Wang and his woman gone, he had to step up as a man, take good care of Nuonuo, protect her, and ensure nothing like what happened before would happen again!

Chi Enen, filled with bittersweet reluctance, waved to Baby Chi as she boarded the airplane. Inside the plane, Li Beijue was already seated on the sofa, handling work.
