Chapter 763 -763: It seems I’ve seen it somewhere before

Chi Ya’s thoughts were erratic as she clutched her small crossbody bag tightly, the memory of seeing a silhouette on the red carpet that resembled Chi Enen ‘very much’ leaving her feeling uneasy and restless.

She scanned the venue with her eyes, but didn’t spot anyone. She turned to Feng San and said, “Director Feng, since the banquet hasn’t started yet, I’ll go to the restroom to touch up my makeup.”

“Hmm? Go ahead. Be quick.”

“Okay.”

Chi Ya lifted the hem of her skirt and walked inside.

It wasn’t her first time at this hotel; the Chi family’s young lady had her coming-of-age birthday banquet here.

Thus, she didn’t need the staff to guide her to the restroom; she knew exactly where it was.

She passed through the corridor and, making sure Feng San couldn’t see her, suddenly stopped, looked around for a moment, and did not see Chi Enen.

Only then did she proceed to the restroom.

She had just reached the restroom and pulled out her lipstick to touch up when she spotted someone else washing their hands. Just one glance, and she recognized the person washing hands beside her—Chi Enen!

She hadn’t been mistaken just now; it indeed was Chi Enen!

Chi Ya’s heartbeat suddenly accelerated, a strong sense of resentment surging up. It was almost like old times when she was about to charge forward and curse the other without a second thought. But having learned from a few setbacks, she restrained her young lady temper. Her eyes shifted, and she discreetly slipped off the ring she was wearing on her hand, then pretended to finish applying her lipstick. Just as Chi Enen finished washing her hands and was about to leave—

At the same time as she turned off the faucet, Chi Ya acted as though she, too, was about to leave, and bumped into her—

The two collided unexpectedly.

Their bags dropped to the ground simultaneously.

Chi Ya, with quick reflexes, crouched to pick up the bag and quickly apologized, “Ah, I’m sorry, did I bump into you? Here, your bag.”

Chi Enen, caught off guard by the collision, felt a bit of pain in her arm but quickly recovered, pulling at the corner of her mouth as she accepted her handbag, “I’m fine.”

No sooner had she spoken than her gaze was captivated by the person in front of her.

The bright red gown worn by the woman in front of her highlighted her skin’s fair and delicate appearance, and with her bright and charming features and elongated neck, she exuded all kinds of charm.

None of these were the reason for Chi Enen’s captivation. It was the fact that the person in front of her gave her a sense of familiarity. Especially those eyes—they felt so familiar, as if she had seen them somewhere before!

But where had she seen them?

As Chi Enen furrowed her eyebrows in thought, the other woman, as if in a hurry, apologized again, “You’re okay, that’s good. I’m sorry about just now. I wasn’t paying attention after touching up my makeup and ended up bumping into you.”

With such a polite apology, Chi Enen’s sense of familiarity faded slightly, but she still felt something was off. Nevertheless, inside she might have doubts, but she said out loud, “It’s okay.”

“Well then… the banquet is about to begin; I should head over first.”

“Okay.”

She hurriedly took her small handbag and walked away.

Chi Enen watched her departing figure for a moment, failing to make sense of the encounter, and she too continued on her way with her own handbag that had fallen during their collision…

After that little incident.

With only a little over half an hour left before the start of the charity dinner, by the time she left, the meeting hall was already filled with people mingling before the banquet began.

Chi Enen was planning to find a quiet corner to wait for the banquet to start.

At that moment, a surprised voice suddenly came from behind her, calling her name, “Enen?”
