Madam Li's Identity Is Exposed Again!

Chapter 537 -537: What Exactly Did Kim Zhiyuan Say on the Phone

Not knowing what was said on the other end of the phone, he rudely snapped, “I’m busy!”

And with that, he hung up.

Chi Enen watched as he had just hung up when his mobile phone started ringing insistently again. She couldn’t help but say, “Li Beijue, your phone is ringing. Aren’t you going to answer it?”

He glanced over with a cold look, his face betraying his displeasure, “You know who it is. You expect me to answer?”

Why did he sound a bit angry?

“Who is it?”

Li Beijue said a name with extreme impatience, “Kim Zhiyuan.”

Chi Enen’s mind conjured up an image of a tall and beautiful woman. Wasn’t Kim Zhiyuan the most suitable wife candidate picked out by Li Beijue’s grandfather?

The persistent ringtone of the mobile phone kept sounding, annoying Li Beijue so much that he was about to switch off his phone.

Chi Enen opened her mouth, and still she said, “Why don’t you pick up? After all, you have a partnership. What if Miss Kim has something important and you don’t answer…”

Damn it, he had already told her it was Kim Zhiyuan calling and she still wanted him to answer it!

Did she have this much confidence in him, not fearing that he’d be snatched away by another woman? Had she lost all sense of crisis?

Li Beijue furrowed his eyebrows, looking at her as if he was frustrated with her pressing attitude!

But… Chi Enen’s confidence, on the other hand, could it mean that she trusted him?

Li Beijue didn’t care if anyone trusted him, but the thought of Chi Enen trusting him made his mood involuntarily brighten.

He cast a glance at Chi Enen, as if indulging her, picked up the phone, and put it to his ear, “I’m giving you ten seconds. Speak quickly!”

That tone!

Chi Enen stood there speechless.

She was about to go back to her room to fetch a coat for Baby Chi, when she heard the man’s voice suddenly turn solemn, “Where are you? I’ll be right there.”

“What’s happened?” Chi Enen worriedly asked him.

Li Beijue’s face went through a series of changes and his thin lips pressed into a line. He glanced at her, “It’s nothing.”

“I don’t believe you.” Chi Enen reached out to grab his arm. With that expression, she genuinely didn’t believe it was nothing, “What exactly happened?”

Li Beijue’s gaze firmly fixed on her face, from her clear eyes to her delicate lips, and then it shifted downward, landing on her still flat stomach. His heart trembled, yet he didn’t know how to tell her what Kim Zhiyuan had said over the phone. His Adam’s Apple bobbing, he opened his mouth with a husky voice, “Kim Zhiyuan knows you’re pregnant.”

“Hm?” How did it matter that Kim Zhiyuan knew she was pregnant?

Chi Enen didn’t understand his meaning. Was it that Kim Zhiyuan shouldn’t know she was pregnant? Or was it that Kim Zhiyuan was using her pregnancy as a bargaining chip to demand something from him?

Li Beijue’s gaze slid over her oblivious and comely face, and his heart felt as if it were clutched by an invisible hand, tightening and tightening!

No matter what, he had to go and find out the true meaning behind that sentence!

That woman, covered in filth, had better pray she wasn’t deceiving him, or else… His falcon-like eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty ferocity!

He pulled his arm away from Chi Enen, grabbed the car keys from the table, and said in a hurry, “Chi Enen, I need to step out for a bit. There’s no need for you to pick up Chi Jingchen; I’ll have someone bring him back.”

“Li Bei…” He had not yet clarified what exactly Kim Zhiyuan knowing about her pregnancy meant.

But Li Beijue, as if he hadn’t heard, opened the door and quickly stepped out.

Click.

The entryway door slammed shut—
