198: Buddha became an immortal? The path to the emperor and the path to immortality!”What exactly is going on? Which of them was truly demonic?” Wu De was utterly baffled, feeling as if he had just watched an unfinished play.

Moreover, his mind was a complete mess, unable to understand why they had both stopped fighting.

”Is Chu Jiangnian also demonic? Is he with that bald monk now?” The God-Slaying Stone asked.

”To be precise, only one person is demonic,” Qin Han explained.

”One person? That’s not right, I clearly saw both of them...” Wu De’s words trailed off as he suddenly realized something, then continued, ”I know! Only Brother Chu is demonic, that bald monk being demonic is just an illusion!”

”Why do you say that?” Qin Han asked with interest.

”Look, Xuankong Temple can be said to have the longest Buddhist Legacy, possessing unparalleled advantages and power in eradicating evil.”

”As the Buddhist Son, Jiekong must have the purest Buddhist Heart-Nature, and with three thousand sarira within him and the Buddha protecting his Physical Body, how could he easily become demonic?”

Hearing Wu De’s reasoning, the God-Slaying Stone felt it made a lot of sense and echoed, ”Now that you mention it, that seems right.”

”With the Buddha in his Heart-Nature, no demons can invade. If Jiekong truly became a demon, he would have started a massacre long ago.”

Both believed that the one who had become demonic was Chu Jiangnian.

Qin Han secretly shook his head upon hearing this, and retorted, ”Do you know what the Floating Pagoda is?”

”Of course I know that thing! It’s the treasure of Xuankong Temple, containing countless devils and demons within. Its exterior is the most Yang and rigid, yet its interior is the most evil in the world,” Wu De said.

”The Floating Pagoda is Soul-bound to Jiekong. When the two merge, it can be called a great weapon, and also a supreme Buddhist treasure,” Qin Han stated.

”Soul-bound?” Wu De’s Heart-Nature stirred; he seemed to have realized something.

He then abruptly looked up, exclaiming in surprise, ”You mean... Chu Jiangnian, being inside the Floating Pagoda, was influenced by Jiekong and thus became demonic?”

”That’s not right. If what you say is true, then both should have fallen to a demonic fate,” the God-Slaying Stone said, greatly perplexed.

Qin Han gazed at Jiekong and Chu Jiangnian as they vanished into the crack and entered the Taigu Divine Nest, slowly saying, ”I said that those with a natural Sword Heart have a strong Heart-Nature and are not easily influenced.”

Wu De gasped, ”You mean, Brother Chu isn’t demonic, and the one who truly became demonic is Jiekong?”

”Exactly. From the first time I saw Jiekong, I felt something was off about him. Although his whole body was bathed in Buddhist light, there was always a sinister force lingering,” Qin Han nodded slightly.

”A Buddhist Son becoming demonic, it’s simply a huge joke,” Wu De muttered.

”Nothing in the world is absolute. People of Buddhism are also Human Race. As long as they are Human Race, they cannot escape the seven emotions and six desires,” Qin Han stated.

”But he’s a Buddhist Son, the one with the strongest Buddhist Heart-Nature. Even he couldn’t escape desire?” The God-Slaying Stone sighed softly.

In ancient times, Xuankong Temple was originally a solid backing for the Human Race. They did not appear in the world, but always took action when the Human Race was in danger.

They saved countless humans from dire straits and were an incredibly sacred existence in the hearts of many.

Now, Xuankong Temple had produced a follower of the Demonic Path. How could this not make people sigh with regret?

”Alas, who can blame them? There’s a reason why the Buddhist Dao has never produced a Great Emperor. Jiekong had to contend with others, and he was still stubborn,” Wu De shook his head helplessly.

”Why?” Qin Han asked, puzzled.

”The Buddha created the Buddhist Dao, which was an immeasurable Karma in the Primordial Era. He achieved Immortal Ascension with his Physical Body, attained the supreme Fruit Position, stood above all heavens, and delivered all living beings from suffering.”

”It is precisely because of this that the Buddhist Dao grew strong. But the Buddha also set rules, forbidding cultivators of Buddhism from entering the mundane world, and only allowing the spread of Buddhist Dharma in the Ximo Ancient State,” Wu De recounted.

”So, that’s why they can’t become Great Emperors?” Qin Han asked again.
