The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

The surrounding passengers exclaimed and backed away.

Wang Yang was putting handcuffs on Li Kui while shouting to the crowd, ”Police working a case, please remain calm!”

When they escorted Li Kui out of the waiting room, Wang Yang finally let out a long breath.

He glanced at his watch — there was 1 minute left until the train’s scheduled departure time.

In this race against time, they finally won.

Suddenly, Li Kui struggled violently like a trapped beast for a moment, but quickly ran out of energy under the restraint of several police officers.

His arms were pinned behind his back, and the cold metal handcuffs clicked shut on his wrists.

When he was pushed into the police car, his gaze was sluggish as he stared at the rapidly retreating street view outside the window, sweat beads forming on his forehead.

Half an hour later, the interrogation room’s incandescent lights made Li Kui’s pale face look even more terrifying.

He sat mechanically in the iron chair, his fingers unconsciously scratching at the tabletop.

Wang Yang and Zhou Yong exchanged a glance, deciding to strike while the iron is hot and begin the interrogation.

”Li Kui!”

”We found a lot of bloodstains in your car, the DNA comparison results are already out.”

”That night after hitting someone at the mountain’s base, not only did you not rescue them, but you took them to the wilderness to stage the scene.”

Li Kui’s Adam’s apple bobbed, but he still kept his head down and remained silent.

Wang Yang lightly tapped the tabletop. ”Your parents are in the next room.”

”Confessing sooner would ease their suffering.”

These words pierced like a needle into Li Kui’s heart, he suddenly raised his head, his eyes full of red veins.

The interrogation room was so quiet that the ticking of the clock could be heard.

Five minutes later, Li Kui suddenly broke down, clutching his head, ”It was me... it was all me...”

”I went to the mountains with a few friends to play. Upon parting, I drank a little alcohol, thinking that since I hadn’t drunk much, driving should be fine. But unexpectedly, when passing by the mountain’s base, suddenly a woman passed by from the side, and I hit her at a very high speed. I even got injured myself because I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. But I was really panicking internally, not knowing what to do; the first priority was to put her in the car’s trunk and drag her back home.”

”Then, I found a rope and disguised her as if she hanged herself.”

”Until now, you’ve discovered it, and it’s just that simple.”

”Just that simple? Was your father involved?”

”No!”

”He didn’t know about this. Later he sensed something was wrong with me, asked me, and that’s when I told him, but he didn’t know about the entire initial process.”

Next, Wang Yang asked, ”At the time you hit the girl, did she have any vital signs?”

”No, she was already not breathing.”

”I thought she couldn’t be saved because she was hit in the head, so I... I just dealt with her.”

Suddenly, Zhou Yong said, ”Do you know that the girl was still alive and struggled in the trunk, but you didn’t rescue her.”

”If you had taken her to the hospital at that time, she might not have died.”

”No, she wouldn’t have. By then, she was already unconscious. When I looked at her nose, she wasn’t breathing.”

”As someone without medical knowledge, do you know that when breathing is very weak, under tension, you can’t really sense it?”

”Impossible, impossible, at the time I was very sure she was already dead. Only after hitting her did I put her into the trunk.”

Zhou Yong said sternly, ”What you’re saying is just one side of the story. We are basing on the distribution of bloodstains in your trunk.”

”She struggled for a long time in the trunk, and you probably couldn’t feel it while driving. In fact, she wasn’t dead at the time; she likely died when you hung her on a tree branch.”

In an instant, Li Kui was stunned, saying, ”Impossible, I didn’t strangle her.”
