Chapter 287: Chapter 185: Recognition from the Task Force!

Sun Yiming was stunned for two seconds after hearing.

He looked at Zhang Feng incredulously.

Are we starting to plan the next direction of investigation already?

It should be known that repeated studies before have led to two viewpoints, without a definitive direction for investigation.

Jiang An only browsed the case files and hadn’t even read them completely.

Can his viewpoint be the basis for the next investigation direction?

Sun Yiming was anxious, with many question marks floating in his mind.

In his impression, Mr. Zhang was very meticulous in his work.

Why is he a bit impulsive today?

Sun Yiming was also pondering continuously.

He didn’t deny Jiang An’s analysis.

However, it’s still unknown how much this seemingly logical inference process matches the real case.

As he was looking puzzled, Mr. Zhang turned his head.

”What’s the matter?”

”Why are you still in a daze?”

”Quickly notify the other members of the task force.”

”Yes, Chief!”

Zhang Feng continued, ”This case has been under investigation for over two months without any progress.”

”The pressure is immense, be it the city-level criminal investigation team or our criminal investigation headquarters.”

”Even though today is Saturday, a legal rest day.”

”But for solving cases, there are no holidays; we must utilize every minute and every second to try to find more clues.”

Finally, Zhang Feng said in a deep voice, ”Notify them to gather for the meeting in the conference room within half an hour.”

”Yes! I will go inform everyone right away.”

After Sun Yiming left the office, Mr. Zhang smiled as he looked at Jiang An.

”Comrade Jiang An, your analysis today truly opened my eyes.”

”I didn’t expect a newcomer like you to have such clear thoughts and a very methodical analysis.”

Pausing slightly, Zhang Feng shook his head and said, ”If we had invited you to join the task force earlier, perhaps we wouldn’t have taken so many detours.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang An said solemnly, ”Mr. Zhang, you’re exaggerating!”

”This is just my inference; whether it reflects the real process will ultimately require extensive investigation work to verify.”

Jiang An smiled slightly, ”It’s also possible that my inference is wrong.”

”After all, my basis for logical reasoning on that viewpoint is not sufficient.”

Zhang Feng, being a veteran investigator, naturally knew that criminal investigation and case-solving cannot rely on subjective assumptions.

He smiled, ”Comrade Jiang An, don’t feel too much pressure.”

”Any investigation idea proposed initially cannot be confirmed as correct.”

”However, in my view, even a wrong investigation direction is meaningful.”

”Once we’ve tried all the wrong pathways, the remaining result is bound to be the correct answer.”

After hearing Mr. Zhang’s words, the nearby Zhang Yean and Wan benefited greatly as well.

Moments ago, the two truly felt anxious on behalf of Jiang An.

Unexpectedly, Jiang An’s conclusion received high recognition from Zhang Feng.

Thirty minutes later, the conference room of the criminal investigation headquarters was filled with people.

Many participants of this meeting had gray hair and deeply wrinkled foreheads.

One look and it’s clear they’re elites who have been battling on the front lines of criminal investigation for years.

But at this moment, the conference room was noisy.

Being suddenly called back on the weekend to discuss the case made many people displeased.

After all, the task force had already held a meeting before leaving work yesterday to discuss the stage progress.

Less than twelve hours since the last meeting, a new one was organized, leaving some people with grievances.

Over the phone, Sun Yiming didn’t specifically state the main content of this meeting, only mentioning the discussion on the next investigation direction.

People didn’t have high expectations for this meeting.

Everyone present understood that there were only two investigation directions.

One was death by traffic accident.

The other was death by falling from height.

However, these two angles have been focused on for a long time, with tremendous police and material resources being invested, yet no significant progress had been made.

At this time, a middle-aged man with gray hair by the window smoked unhappily.

”I originally planned to take my daughter to see a movie today. How come I was suddenly notified to come for a meeting?”
