Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Isn’t it? After all, I’ve taken care of you for so many years! Stop talking and get to work!” Feng Yuzhi didn’t want Yan Huan to be clueless after marriage, despised by her husband and in-laws.

”No, I won’t.” Yan Huan threw the potato back into the basket, ”It’s okay, I’ve got Ji Chuan who can’t do it either. He can cook!”

”You’re just lazy!”

”Old Comrade Feng, I’m not good at this cooking thing. It’s better you do it!” Yan Huan wrapped her arms around Feng Yuzhi’s neck, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and turned to leave the kitchen.

”Let’s see what you’ll do when you can’t cook and have nothing to eat!” Feng Yuzhi, unable to get Yan Huan to work, simply started busying herself.

As Yan Huan came out of the kitchen, Qin Jian’s family of three arrived.

The little guy Ning Chenyang saw Yan Huan and happily dashed over: ”Godmother!”

”Yangyang! My godson!” Yan Huan joyfully hugged him, kissing his cheeks twice, ”Have you been a good boy lately?”

”Pretty much.” Ning Chenyang originally wanted to say he had been very good, but he took a sneaky glance at Qin Jian and didn’t dare to boast too much.

Seeing his guilty look, Yan Huan knew this little guy hadn’t been up to any good: ”Guangguang is much more obedient than you.”

”You’re also his godmother!” Ning Chenyang didn’t like hearing that, and twisted back to An Hao’s side, ”Mom is still the best.”

”Your mom just spoils you!” Qin Jian said offhandedly.

”Mom, listen to what he said. Make him sleep on the sofa again tonight!” Ning Chenyang complained unhappily.

Qin Jian wanted to say something, opened his mouth, but swallowed the words back.

”You really don’t dare to say anything!” Yan Huan couldn’t help but tease him seeing Qin Jian like this.

”Yeah! I’m just afraid of sleeping on the sofa!” The last time, this little rascal drove the car out of the compound, and after he came back, Qin Jian punished the kid to run a few laps, which made An Hao heartache after she found out.

The two bickered a bit, and An Hao, annoyed, made him sleep on the sofa.

She thought Qin Jian was too harsh in educating the child.

Little did she know, the tough days with this young rascal were still ahead, thanks to Qin Jian for keeping things in check.

”I think the little guy’s quite clever.” Ji Chuan liked Ning Chenyang a lot; his mischievous antics didn’t annoy people but instead endeared him to them.

”Wait until you have your own. You’ll understand then.” Qin Jian said, looking at this little rascal who could melt anyone’s heart, ”You don’t know, he leads the kindergarten kids causing mischief everywhere. Yes, he even made himself a commander and appointed a commissar for himself.”

”Hahaha! You outrank your dad! Your dad’s only a colonel, and you’re a commander now!” Yan Luquan said with a laugh while fiddling with the chess pieces.

”But, as a commander, I can’t command this colonel.” Ning Chenyang said.

”Isn’t that obvious? If you could command me, wouldn’t things be in chaos? You little rascal!” Qin Jian said, half laughing, half crying.

”I think so too.” Yan Huan sat down, casually grabbed an apple, and tossed it to Ning Chenyang, ”Come, tell godmother, did you catch that scar-faced old man later?”

That’s what Yan Huan was concerned about.

Especially after her memory returned, she couldn’t get over that scar-faced man.

The sight of the girl when she died still occasionally appeared in her dreams, and each time it happened, her hatred for that scar-faced man grew.

”You should ask my dad about that!” Ning Chenyang said.
