Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Even though Cheng Yue loves her, the kind of long-established feelings between him and Shen Qiqi cannot be replaced by an ordinary person.

”I’ll listen to you. You say wait, I’ll wait with you.”

”He probably won’t come back, will he?” Yan Huan smiled, ”Shen Qiqi isn’t that easy to coax. It looks like Cheng Yue won’t be coming back for a while. Let’s go.”

”Alright then.” Ji Chuan’s lips slightly curled up.

Just as the three of them were about to leave, Dr. Lei Linxuan from the department hurriedly ran out, gasping for breath, ”Director Ji, something happened!”

”What happened?” Ji Chuan raised his eyebrows.

”Shen Qiqi attempted suicide by slitting her wrists!”

”What?” Yan Huan’s heart jolted, ”Slit her wrists! Where is she now? How is she?”

”She lost over a thousand CCs of blood and is in shock. She’s currently receiving a blood transfusion to save her life!” Lei Linxuan said.

”That’s good.” Ji Chuan sighed in relief.

”This incident is quite sensational. The dean happened to pass by and got an overview of the situation. He wants you to go to his office immediately!”

”Okay. Don’t wait for me; I don’t know how long I’ll be.” Ji Chuan hurriedly walked a few steps with Lei Linxuan, then suddenly stopped and said to Yan Huan, ”Can you take care of Jason for me? And you two can also discuss the follow-up treatment.”

...............

Good news travels fast, but bad news travels even faster.

Shen Qiqi’s suicide attempt spread throughout the entire hospital in an instant.

On the hospital bed, her face was as pale as paper, her cheeks had lost their usual rosiness, and even her lips were devoid of color. Her eyes were tightly shut, unaware of everything happening around her.

Cheng Yue sat by the bed, holding Shen Qiqi’s hand tightly, his eyes red as if he had just cried.

Her hand was cold, without any warmth.

She was always afraid of the cold, how could her hand be so cold?

”What happened?” Ji Chuan pushed open the door to the ward and walked to stand behind Cheng Yue. Seeing Shen Qiqi lying there silently, he felt both fear and regret for her.

”She overheard the conversation between Yan Huan and me. Maybe she couldn’t handle the shock,” Cheng Yue said, his voice hoarse, ”My parents finally agreed to let me stay in Nancheng! They will no longer interfere in the relationship between Yan Huan and me.”

Ji Chuan’s heart trembled, and after a long silence, he said, ”So, she attempted suicide?”

”Yes,” Cheng Yue took a deep breath, ”She’s always been a sensitive and fragile girl. She has followed me around since she was young, and I’ve always treated her like a sister. Although there isn’t any romantic love, my feelings for her are indeed deep. I thought that as she got older, her feelings for me would fade, but I never imagined they would grow even stronger. Seeing her like this, I’m truly heartbroken! I never expected her to attempt suicide!”

The bright red blood flowed all over her body and the floor, redder and more vivid than blooming camellias.

At that moment, Cheng Yue’s heartbeat stopped, his whole body cold as if plunged into an ice cellar.

”What do you plan to do next?” Ji Chuan asked him, ”I mean regarding your relationship with Yan Huan and Shen Qiqi.”

”I...” Cheng Yue hesitated, ”I originally wanted to marry Yan Huan. But now it seems that I have to wait! I can’t disregard Shen Qiqi’s feelings.”

Ji Chuan said nothing upon hearing this and turned to walk out.
