Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2354: Chapter 2347: Want a Hug?

”Yan Huan...” Ji Chuan had never seen Yan Huan with such a frustrated and helpless expression.

It was as if the sunlight was overshadowed by clouds, losing its vibrant spark.

He wanted to say something to Yan Huan, but she raised her hand to stop him.

”Sorry!” Yan Huan sighed deeply, expelling the stale breath that had built up in her chest. ”I said a bit too much... It’s all in the past. I just mentioned it casually, don’t take it to heart.”

”If possible, I hope to understand a bit more...”

Ji Chuan looked at her.

Yan Huan smiled brightly, her expression suddenly becoming radiant: ”Are you sure? It’s the first time I’ve heard someone wanting to listen to their rival’s love story.”

”Know thyself, know thy enemy, and you can fight a hundred battles without defeat!” Ji Chuan said seriously.

The two talked as they walked, unknowingly arriving at the village entrance.

From afar, the bus approached, and the ticket seller stuck his head out of the window and shouted loudly: ”Liao Lin, Liao Lin! The bus to Liao Lin is leaving!”

”The bus is here...”

”I have to leave! Take care!”

Ji Chuan took a few steps forward, then turned back, opened his arms to Yan Huan, ”Want a hug?”

”Tsk!” Yan Huan rolled her eyes and turned her head away.

Ji Chuan smiled helplessly.

”Alright now, don’t be mushy on the main road, save the hugs for the warm stove when you come back! The bus is leaving, hurry up, hurry up!” The ticket seller shouted, causing an uproar of laughter on the bus.

”Who’s a couple with him! Don’t talk nonsense!” Yan Huan blushed from the laughter of others.

Ji Chuan didn’t explain, a smile lingering at the corner of his mouth as he boarded the bus, looking back three times as he went.

The bus gradually distanced and finally disappeared from Yan Huan’s sight.

Yan Huan turned and walked back towards the camp.

Halfway there, she ran into Cheng Yue, who was standing under a willow tree by the roadside, arms crossed, leaning slanted against the trunk, and his eyes wickedly glistening as he gazed at Yan Huan.

”Why are you here?” Yan Huan stopped and asked.

”Worried about you!”

”Are you sure you’re not spying on me?” Yan Huan raised her brows, her pretty almond-shaped eyes wide open.

”I’m not!” Cheng Yue laughed, uncrossing his arms as he strode towards Yan Huan. ”He left, do you feel a bit lost in your heart?”

”What do you want to ask?”

”Nothing much. Just asking about your feelings, is there? Is there?” Cheng Yue’s handsome face leaned in.

”Ridiculous!” Yan Huan raised her hand and pushed him aside. ”Stop asking such useless questions.”

Cheng Yue staggered a few steps, regaining his footing: ”Hey! Why are you so aggressive towards me?”

”Who told you to get so close to me.”

”I insist on being this close to you!”

”No chance!”

The two pushed and shoved, chasing and dodging each other. Yan Huan accidentally jumped into a muddy puddle, splattering mud all over her pants.

”It’s all your fault! Stop chasing, just walk properly!”

”Let me help you clean up.” Cheng Yue squatted down, intending to help her clean.

”No, I’ll do it myself!”

”Let me! Don’t move!” Cheng Yue ordered her.

Yan Huan looked at Cheng Yue with conflicted emotions, unsure how to face him, when the sound of a car horn interrupted their moment.

She looked up towards the roadside and saw a military vehicle driving over.

The license plate looked somewhat familiar.

While Yan Huan was thinking whose car it might be, the vehicle already pulled up in front of them.

The window rolled down, revealing Qin Jian’s angular, resolute face in the passenger seat.
