Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2349: Chapter 2342: Are You Going to Miss Me a Little?

Cheng Yue clenched his fist tightly: ”Alright, let’s see who can win Yan Huan’s heart in the end!”

”I’m in it to the end!” Ji Chuan smirked, but the determination in his eyes was even more resolute.

...............

Yan Huan returned to her tent, still holding the things Ji Chuan had given her.

Though he was drenched by the rain, and everything in his travel bag was soaked through, even his clothes were wet, this package was the only thing tightly wrapped.

Yan Huan felt a little touched in her heart.

However, she thought if it were any other man doing this, she might be touched as well, but it had nothing to do with love.

”Hey, Yan Huan! Where did you go so early in the morning? Dr. Cheng has prepared your meal, it’s on the table!” Qiu Xinyi said to the mirror as she applied cream, noticing Yan Huan had come in.

”I know.” Yan Huan replied casually, sat down, and began unpacking. As the layers were removed, inside were fresh fruits and cakes and such, ”This fool!”

If the fruit got wet, you could wash it and eat it again, right? Why wrap the fruit so tightly when you’re soaked to the skin?

”Wow, Yan Huan, where did you get so much food?” Qiu Xinyi saw the pile of goodies through the mirror and enviously came closer.

When she came, she also brought quite a bit of food.

Over time, all the fruits and snacks were finished. In this remote village, it’s hard to even find fruit, let alone cakes and bread.

”A friend sent it.” Yan Huan packed away the goods.

”Hey, you’re really stingy! I was just looking, it’s not like I said I wanted to eat it. Why are you so eager to put it away?” Qiu Xinyi was not pleased with Yan Huan’s attitude.

”I’m afraid your eyes will get stuck on it.”

”Pfft! As if I care for your stuff! Once I get back to Nancheng, I’ll eat all I want!” Qiu Xinyi scoffed at Yan Huan, pulled out a book from the table, and rolled back onto her bed to read.

Ji Chuan’s visit was untimely, for it rained heavily all day. It started in the morning and continued till night.

He couldn’t go anywhere and had to stay cooped up in the tent.

That day, Ji Chuan and Cheng Yue spent the whole day discussing work in the tent, eating two meals of big pot dishes cooked in the village.

But Ji Chuan didn’t feel regretful.

As long as he saw Yan Huan, he was satisfied.

The next day, the rain stopped, the wind was gentle, the sun was shining bright, and the sky was clear.

It was a beautiful day.

Although Hanshan Village is a poor village, the scenery is quite nice. Taking a stroll on a day off is a good choice.

Unfortunately, Ji Chuan had to leave.

He had a night shift tonight, so after breakfast, he had to leave.

The journey required a car and train; if everything goes smoothly, it would take over five hours to return. If not, the delay could be longer.

”Are you leaving already?” After cleaning the dishes, Yan Huan returned to Cheng Yue’s tent and saw Ji Chuan packing.

”What? Would you miss me a little?” Ji Chuan asked with a smile.

”No, I wouldn’t.” Yan Huan denied, ”I mean, is it really worth it to travel so much for just one day?”

”Worth it! Why wouldn’t it be? My purpose was to see you, and I’ve achieved that, so it’s definitely worth it.” Ji Chuan said, then added, ”Don’t ever ask me if it’s worth it again! For you, my answer is always, it’s worth it!”
