Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2310: Chapter 2303: Obey Orders

”Yan Jie, don’t go!” Xiaomei quickly grabbed Yan Huan’s hand, ”It doesn’t matter if I don’t go. It’ll save me from suffering too!”

”What are you saying? Qiu Xinyi is just going too far.” Yan Huan shook off her hand, ”Don’t worry, I’ll go have a good talk with the commander.”

Yan Huan knocked on the commander’s office door once more, and after getting permission, she walked in.

”Yan Huan, why are you back again? Is there a problem?” the commander asked.

”Commander, I want to ask why Qiu Xinyi is replacing Tan Xiaomei?” Yan Huan said with a serious expression.

”Whoever goes is the same. Besides, Qiu Xinyi is seeking progress, and naturally, we have to consider it.” The commander said with a smile, ”Not to mention, you know we can’t disregard the face of Chief Qiu!”

”Then I’m not going. Let Tan Xiaomei go instead!” This was an opportunity, and Yan Huan felt that Tan Xiaomei needed it more than she did.

”What are you doing?” The commander’s face darkened, ”Are you sulking with me?”

”No.”

”If not, then go! Why all the nonsense?”

”But...”

”No buts! Don’t talk about personal loyalty! You must know, in our team, the articles you, as the news officer, write are the best! The leadership values this matter so much, and you say you aren’t going, aren’t you causing trouble for me?”

”I’m not!”

”Not? Aren’t you sulking with me? What’s the duty of a soldier?”

”To obey orders!”

”Good to know. I heard everything you said with Tan Xiaomei outside, don’t worry too much. If Tan Xiaomei is talented, the troops won’t let her leave so easily.” The commander gave a form of consolation to Yan Huan.

”Yes!”

Yan Huan left the office, Tan Xiaomei was waiting outside the door, and when she came out, she looked at her with yearning eyes: ”Yan Jie...”

”The commander didn’t agree, but he said that if you have talent, the troops won’t easily let you leave.” Yan Huan faithfully conveyed the commander’s words.

”Hmm.” Xiaomei nodded heavily, ”Don’t worry Yan Jie, I’ll do my best! Thank you!”

”No need to thank me.” Yan Huan patted her shoulder.

After work, Yan Huan was about to head home. She had arranged to have dinner with Ji Chuan at home, so she had to go back.

Before reaching the front gate, she saw a group of female soldiers approaching, giggling about something.

”Two men! So handsome!”

”Yeah, I like the younger-looking one, he looks just like a movie star.”

”I bet they’re from the military hospital? They’re probably here for Qiu Officer!”

As they spoke, Qiu Xinyi caught up from behind Yan Huan, and the group of female soldiers greeted them.

”Officer Qiu! There are two particularly handsome men waiting for you outside!”

”Is that so? I’ll go see.” Recently, several men had pursued Qiu Xinyi, only to be rejected one by one.

So, hearing the female soldiers say they’re here for her, Qiu Xinyi had no doubt.

Thus, she proudly brushed past Yan Huan, not even sparing a glance in her direction, heading straight for the gate.

”Ridiculous!” Yan Huan muttered a curse under her breath, tightened the bag slung over her shoulder, and walked forward.

At the gate, Ji Chuan and Cheng Yue were already getting tired from standing.

Finally, they saw from afar the two female soldiers walking out one after the other.
