Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2308: Chapter 2301: Joy Comes with Good News

”Mom, you’re in such a good mood today!” Yan Ye went to the kitchen to pour water for Qiushu, seeing his mother busy and delighted, ”If I’d known you would fancy Ji Chuan, I would’ve introduced him to Yan Huan a long time ago.”

”Hmph! I can’t be bothered to talk about you. Tell me, other than your wife, who else can you see?” Feng Yuzhi couldn’t help but chide her son.

”Huh? Isn’t this what you said? That I don’t need to worry about anything at home, just take good care of Qiushu?” Yan Ye replied with a smile.

”You’ve really got me there.” Feng Yuzhi decided not to argue this point with Yan Ye and said directly, ”Tonight, you should keep Ji Chuan company and have a few drinks with him!”

”Don’t worry. Ji Chuan is my friend and possibly my future brother-in-law. I absolutely can’t neglect him!” Having said that, Yan Ye anxiously asked, ”Are you sure Huanhuan will like Ji Chuan?”

Actually, the two of them had crossed paths before, but seeing that Huanhuan wasn’t interested in Ji Chuan, he let it go.

He hopes his sister can find her own true love, not just settle with any man.

This isn’t what Yan Huan wants.

Feng Yuzhi paused her work and told Yan Ye, ”There’s a saying that feelings develop over time. Ji Chuan and Yan Huan are still strangers now without much opportunity to interact. We just need to create opportunities for them to understand each other better. The more they understand each other, the more they’ll naturally develop feelings!”

”Makes sense. In that case, it seems as her brother, I’ll need to put in more effort too.” Yan Ye said.

”That’s necessary! Your sister’s lifelong happiness depends on us!”

As they chatted in the kitchen, the doorbell rang.

Yan Ye went to open the door and saw Ji Chuan standing there with a bunch of bags.

”Yo! Director Ji is here! A rare guest!” Yan Ye couldn’t help but tease him with a smile at the sight.

After years of friendship, Ji Chuan was thick-skinned and replied, ”Today I’m a rare guest, but soon I won’t be! I might be stationed at Shajiang Beach permanently!”

”That would be great. Ji Chuan, come on in.” Feng Yuzhi cheerfully came out from the kitchen to greet him.

”Hello, Auntie!” Ji Chuan handed over the items he was carrying, ”Just a small token of appreciation, please accept it!”

”You didn’t need to bring anything, just coming over is enough,” Feng Yuzhi said, though she was thrilled inside. The more she looked at this prospective son-in-law, the more sensible and agreeable he seemed, ”Come in and have a seat!”

”Where’s Yan Huan?” Ji Chuan asked casually as he entered.

”She’s still at the base, I’ve already reminded her to come back soon. Why don’t you sit with Yan Ye for a bit?”

”If that’s the case, maybe I’ll skip sitting. Shouldn’t I take an opportunity to make a good impression on Yan Huan? I’ll go pick her up from work.”

”That would be perfect.” Feng Yuzhi said exactly what she hoped for, ”Off you go then! Come back quickly!”

Ji Chuan got Yan Huan’s address and immediately biked to the entrance of the base to pick her up. From afar, he saw someone standing there holding a bouquet of flaming red roses.

”This person is quite romantic.” Ji Chuan murmured to himself.

But to his surprise, when he got closer, he realized it was Cheng Yue standing at the gate of the base.
