Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2272: Chapter 2267: A Woman Who Says One Thing and Means Another

Cheng Yue: ”We know each other!”

Yan Huan: ”We don’t know each other.”

The two people said conflicting words in unison.

”Huh? Do you guys know each other or not?” The girl blinked at Cheng Yue, seemingly eager for an answer.

But Cheng Yue’s gaze was fixed on Yan Huan’s face, looking at her with unblinking eyes filled with a smile.

”Cheng Yue! She’s asking you a question!” The girl coquettishly tugged at Cheng Yue’s hand with her soft hands, shaking it, ”What’s wrong with you? I’m asking you something, did you hear me?”

”He’s my brother’s student. That’s all!” Yan Huan gave a faint glance at Cheng Yue’s hand, held by the girl, threw out a sentence, and grabbed Ning Chenyang, who was seriously drinking soda, turning to leave.

Yes, she admitted she was frustrated!

These two looked quite matched, both in appearance and personality. As an old woman five or six years older than Cheng Yue, she should have stepped aside a long time ago.

”Cough cough cough! Godmother! Godmother!” Ning Chenyang was enjoying his soda when suddenly Yan Huan yanked his collar and dragged him away, soaking him with soda and almost choking him.

But even after calling for his godmother several times, she seemed possessed and didn’t hear. So, he raised his voice and shouted, ”Yan Huan!!!”

Yan Huan was jolted awake by the shout of this brat, and seeing Ning Chenyang’s messy state, she was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter: ”Sorry! Sorry!”

”You owe me a new shirt!” Ning Chenyang said with a tearful face, ”If my dad sees it, he’ll scold me again! He’ll probably make me wash it myself!”

”What? Your dad is so heartless! And your mom? Why doesn’t he let your mom wash it?” Yan Huan asked.

”My dad says my mom is too tired and needs more rest!”

In today’s terms, Yan Huan was caught off guard by a blatant display of affection.

”Alright, alright, it’s fine! The spring wind is strong. Once it blows, your clothes will dry soon! No worries!” Yan Huan took out a handkerchief from her bag and dabbed at Ning Chenyang’s chest a couple of times to help dry it up.

Ning Chenyang pursed his lips, glanced at the damp patch on his chest, and, though unsatisfied, resigned himself.

After all, he was out with such a careless godmother!

”But... what do we do with this empty bottle?” Ning Chenyang shook the glass bottle in his hand and said, ”Return it? An empty bottle is worth twenty cents. You add thirty more, and buy me another one, how about it?”

”You little rascal, you calculate fast! But, no more. If you drink too much and have a stomach ache later, you won’t sleep well at night, bother your mom, and your dad, who treasures his wife more than anything, will surely hate me!” Yan Huan said, pulling the empty bottle from Ning Chenyang’s hand and casually tossed it into the trash can with a thud.

”Alright then...” Ning Chenyang cast a lingering look at the trash can, then asked Yan Huan, ”What are we going to do first?”

”Of course, the carousel!” Yan Huan replied cheerfully.

Even in an older woman’s heart, there can reside a little princess!

She, Yan Huan, was just like that!

At the amusement park entrance, Cheng Yue maintained a stance, watching Yan Huan’s back.

Four years have passed, yet time hasn’t left any trace on her face. She is still that Yan Huan, outwardly contradictory but always bringing him surprises.
