Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2105: Chapter 2100: She Is the Spy

”Okay! That sounds good, I really love hearing that! You all keep eating, I’m going upstairs to see if Lin Qiushu is here.” Hou Zicheng headed upstairs without looking around this time.

Qin Jian frowned and said nothing.

”An Hao, do you know that businessman?” Yuan Yunong asked casually.

”I’ve dealt with him before, but I’m not very familiar. Let’s not talk about him anymore, let’s eat!”

.............................

Hou Zicheng had already arranged to meet Lin Qiushu when he left, and as he went upstairs, Lin Qiushu was checking the accounts.

As the knocking sounded, Lin Qiushu invited Hou Zicheng inside.

”Mr. Hou, it’s been a long time. Is there something urgent you need me for today?” Lin Qiushu asked.

”Collaboration! You’re my lucky star, Lin! I’ve never lost when doing business with you! Lately, my business hasn’t been doing well, so I’m here to see if you have any good collaboration projects and we can make a fortune together?”

Lin Qiushu chuckled, ”Mr. Hou, you’re kidding again. I’m actually about to wrap up my business here. If you’d like to take over, you’re more than welcome!”

As they chatted, downstairs, An Hao began to feel uneasy while eating.

Hou Zicheng was someone both she and Qin Jian considered suspicious, and Lin Qiushu’s suspicions hadn’t been cleared yet. What could happen when these two gathered together?

Are they perhaps exchanging information?

An Hao put down her chopsticks and said, ”This dish doesn’t quite suit my taste! I’ll go to the kitchen to see if there’s any roasted duck ready, I’ll get one to bring back.”

An Hao went upstairs and saw the door to Lin Qiushu’s office was tightly closed, so she quietly approached the door, attempting to eavesdrop on what was being discussed inside.

As she got closer, she heard intermittent voices from inside.

”Is the information you provided this time accurate? Don’t trick me! You know I rely on this to make money now!”

”How could it not be accurate? I’ve got experts advising me on this! You can trade boldly, the market won’t change for the next week.”

”Is the data accurate?”

”Data?”

”Yes, yes... understand the spirit of what I’m saying... I’m clumsy with words!”

The more An Hao listened, the more unsettled she became. Just as she leaned in to catch more of the conversation the voices might reveal next, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching in the hallway.

Following that, Yuan Yunong’s voice sounded, ”An Hao? What are you doing here? The kids are looking for you!”

An Hao quickly turned to walk towards Yuan Yunong, ”Let’s go! I initially wanted to ask you a couple of things. Since they’re discussing business, I won’t interrupt them.”

.............................

Back home, An Hao was eager to share the day’s findings with Qin Jian, ”Qin Jian, do you know why you went to the armory today with people and no one intercepted the information?”

”Why?” Qin Jian asked.

”Because Qiushu is the spy!”

Qin Jian suddenly furrowed his brow, ”How did you come to this conclusion?”

”I eavesdropped! Tonight, I felt there was something wrong with Hou Zicheng visiting Lin Qiushu, so I followed them! And I overheard their discussions! Their conversation involved the trading of data!”

”That’s unlikely... Qiushu is... a spy?” Qin Jian could hardly believe it.

”Otherwise, how would you explain the content of their conversation tonight? Could it all really just be a coincidence?” An Hao said.
