Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2081: Chapter 2076: When Children Grow Up, They Belong to Themselves

”Mom, I was thinking there’s a kindergarten over there too, we should take the kids with us,” An Hao said.

”What do you mean?” Zhang Yun’s face darkened, and she put her chopsticks heavily on the bowl. ”Weren’t you busy before? Weren’t you as busy as ever before? Wasn’t I the one looking after the kids? Now you don’t let me watch the kids? What does that mean?”

”Mom! You’re overthinking it. We don’t mean that,” An Hao knew the two children were the apple of the old lady’s eye. Seeing her mother-in-law’s face turned sour, she quickly said, ”It’s not that we don’t want you to watch the kids. With you watching them for us, it’s much more convenient for us, right...”

”Hmm? If it’s convenient, why not let me watch them?” Zhang Yun glared at An Hao and asked.

”Afraid you’ll get too tired,” An Hao said with a guilty conscience.

All these years, besides being busy with work, she was occupied with all sorts of random things. Her mother-in-law had always been the one taking care of the kids and doing a great job at it.

The past few years, after watching the kids, mother-in-law looked noticeably older than she did a few years ago.

Now she says she’s afraid mother-in-law will get tired, it really does seem guilty.

”Don’t give me that!” Zhang Yun knew right away what Qin Jian meant when he opened his mouth. ”Don’t take me for a fool! Are you thinking I’m in the way? So you want to take the kids away?”

”No such meaning,” An Hao quickly denied.

Seeing Zhang Yun’s eyes start to redden, An Hao looked to her father-in-law for help.

Ning Yibin received the look from his daughter-in-law, cleared his throat and said, ”Old Zhang, don’t start crying at every turn. If the kids want to go, let them go! You know, you’re too protective of the kids. This is actually not beneficial for their growth. You see, you get angry every few days and go on hunger strike, how can Qin Jian educate the kids in the future? The kids are clever, if they rely on you, won’t they turn out like that chubby boy from the Wang family? With mom and grandma backing him up, he doesn’t listen to anyone, wouldn’t that be troublesome?”

Zhang Yun sniffed and sobbed for a while.

The two kids saw grandma crying, put down their bowls and reached out their little hands to wipe her tears.

”Grandma, don’t cry!”

Zhang Yun hugged the two kids into her arms, wiped her tears for a bit, and then said, ”If you want to leave, then leave! When the children grow up, they don’t listen to their mothers! But one thing, you must raise these two kids well, don’t let them get sick! Otherwise, if I find out they’re sick, I won’t let you take them away no matter what!”

”Don’t worry, mom!” An Hao reached out and tightly held her mother-in-law’s hand. ”If you miss the kids, come over. Let Xiaoliu bring you over.”

”I won’t go! You all have to come back when you have time.”

”Alright! We’ll listen to mom!”

Seeing Zhang Yun relent, both Ning Yibin and Qin Jian breathed a sigh of relief.

”When are you moving out? Have you chosen a date?” Zhang Yun asked.

”We’re leaving today,” Qin Jian said.

”Isn’t that too quick? Can’t wait a few days? Afraid I’ll change my mind?” Zhang Yun thought for a moment and said, ”Forget it! You leave today then! After dinner, quickly pack up! Leave today!”

After dinner, An Hao went upstairs to pack.

Afraid the old lady would be sentimental, she didn’t pack everything. She only tidied up the clothes they needed right now, and then packed suitcase after suitcase.

The house over there, a bit of cleaning and it’s ready for living.

Everything, even quilts, are all set, they just need to buy some daily necessities later.
