Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2017: Chapter 2010: Revealed

“Your heart is truly ruthless!” An Hao felt a chill run down her spine.

What kind of cruelty drives a person to murder their own twin sister?

“If you knew what I’ve been through, you probably wouldn’t say such things!”

Hong Mei’s silhouette gradually faded into the distance. An Hao withdrew her gaze and headed towards the platform.

Her heart grew heavy with worry that they might not be able to catch Hong Mei.

The bus came from afar, and An Hao got on, heading back.

She needed to transfer buses midway.

She would have to walk across a street to switch to another route after getting off this bus.

While crossing the road, pushed by the thronging crowd, she suddenly felt someone weave into the crowd behind her.

Wearing a thick jacket, with a heavy scarf around her neck, and a hat on her head, her face was almost completely hidden, except for a pair of eyes.

She stood right next to An Hao, occasionally turning her head to look behind.

Because she kept glancing around nervously, her behavior seemed extremely suspicious.

Someone began to murmur softly, “Why does she look so sneaky?”

It was then An Hao snapped back to reality. She turned her head and her eyes met the other’s gaze.

Their eyes locked; at that moment, An Hao froze.

Gan Tian’s twin sister!!! How did she come back?

As soon as the other woman saw An Hao, her eyes lit up, as if parting the clouds to reveal a bright sky.

“Sister-in-law…” she called softly.

Her voice was gentle, sweet, and clear, devoid of any hoarseness.

Gan Tian!!!

At that moment, An Hao’s heart raced wildly!

Gan Tian thought An Hao couldn’t recognize her anymore. She quietly pulled down the scarf a little to reveal her whole face, “It’s me, Gan Tian!”

“Gan Tian!! It really is you!” An Hao confirmed.

“Shh!” Gan Tian quickly covered her face with the scarf again and whispered, “Sister-in-law, keep your voice down! I’m being chased!”

“Who’s chasing you?” An Hao asked softly.

“I don’t know either. It’s really strange. Today is my first time back in Nancheng. As soon as I showed up, someone started following me! I feel like they’re up to no good, so I’ve been hiding in Tibet and other places! Sister-in-law, do you see if there’s a man in a coat and hat watching us from behind?”

An Hao glanced around, and sure enough, spotted the man not far away.

“You are in trouble indeed. Come with me!” An Hao finished speaking, gathering up her hat and scarf, “Pick up the pace, there are more people here, we can hide better!”

A few minutes later.

An Hao led Gan Tian onto another bus. Through the window, she checked and saw that the man hadn’t followed, letting out a sigh of relief.

“Thank you, sister-in-law!” Gan Tian also sighed in relief, collapsing into the seat.

“Gan Tian, you’ve been gone for more than a year, where exactly have you been all this time?” An Hao wanted to ask on the way.

Not just this question; she had many things she wanted to ask.

Among them, the one she most desired to know was why her twin sister said she was dead, yet she was still alive!

But she’d decide to ask that question later.
