Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2000: Chapter 1993: Do You Know Who She Is?

When the assailant tried to kill her with a knife that day, her father tightly held onto his leg.

Later, he even opened his mouth and bit down hard on her, which forced her to change her target due to the pain.

Previously, she had stabbed her father with a knife, leaving him half-dead. Seeing he didn’t react, she planned to kill her again.

But, fortunately, An Hao’s scream had attracted a lot of people.

So, it frightened the assailant away.

As she was leaving, unwilling to give up, she smashed a piece of brick on her head.

”Weren’t there any useful fingerprints extracted from that brick?” An Hao asked.

”Even if we did, so what? Where would we find this person? The police can only have future suspects record their fingerprints and compare them one by one.”

”It’s good if the fingerprints were extracted. I think I know who this person is. But without definitive evidence, we can’t catch her.”

”You know who it is?”

Qin Jian stopped in his tracks, ”Then why didn’t you say earlier? You should have told me as soon as you woke up. We could have cooperated with the police to solve the case sooner and catch the person who harmed you and your father-in-law.”

”These days I’ve been thinking about it over and over again. After much consideration, I always feel it’s her, though I can’t completely confirm, but I have a general direction. So as long as the police can find evidence, they can expose her.”

”You’re not talking about... Gan Tian, are you?” Qin Jian felt like An Hao was indeed referring to her.

”Yes. I am talking about her! That night I saw her shadow, I also saw her eyes. Qin Jian, when did Gan Tian return to the unit? And when was she released by the National Security Bureau?”

Qin Jian recalled, suddenly things became clear: ”It was on the afternoon of the Lantern Festival. Gan Tian returned to the unit the next day. Even though it’s very suspicious, we cannot be sure Gan Tian was the assailant who tried to kill you that day.”

”We need to visit the unit. I remember that day, my father bit her leg tightly. Although we couldn’t see her expression, I felt she was in great pain! This means my father bit deep enough, we should check her leg, if the tooth marks match my father’s, then it’s her.”

After An Hao finished, she paused suddenly: ”I’m so foolish, my mind wasn’t working. Didn’t the police extract her fingerprints? That would be the crucial evidence!”

”We didn’t extract them. The brick shattered when it fell, and then people stepped on it. The functions on it are already indistinct, my previous assumption was incorrect.” Qin Jian said.

”You...” An Hao glared at him frustratedly, ”Are you just teasing me, I thought we could finally catch her this time.”

”This woman, although full of loopholes, we’ve never been able to find evidence. That’s the troublesome part!” Qin Jian frowned.

Concerning Gan Tian, her identity remains unclear.

Though no significant issues were found, Qin Jian trusts An Hao; if she says Gan Tian isn’t the original Gan Tian, then she’s not.

Such a person being in the communication unit is a big problem.

So as soon as she returned from the National Security Bureau, she transferred Gan Tian to the infirmary.

Even though she lacks medical knowledge, she can still help out.

”Finding anything else now is difficult. I think, after such a long time, if the police can’t find evidence to catch her, even more time won’t help. The only way now is to find her twin sister.” An Hao said.
