Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1859: Chapter 1859: When There Are Too Many Lice, You Don’t Fear the Itch

”Wow, your heart is really big right now!”

”I’m like the lice-infested one who doesn’t fear itching!” An Hao laughed.

Ning Yibin returned from the army in the evening, just as An Hao woke up from a nap and came downstairs.

”An Hao, come sit, let’s chat about your second uncle’s issue.”

”Dad, you already know about this!” An Hao made a cup of tea for Ning Yibin, placed it on the table, and sat down herself.

”I heard from Xiaoliu, that’s how I got to know the situation. What’s your plan for dealing with this next, An Hao?” Ning Yibin asked for An Hao’s thoughts. Since he knew about it, as a relative of the An Family, he couldn’t ignore it.

”I don’t know.” An Hao shook her head. She hadn’t figured out the specifics, but one major premise was she definitely wouldn’t pay financially.

These incidents made her see her second uncle’s family more clearly and thoroughly.

Ji Chuan was right.

It’s hard to change one’s nature.

They simply prefer this kind of life without hard work, instead of earnestly creating a life with their own hands.

The father might indulge his brother, but An Hao would not.

She understood her father’s heartbreak and helplessness but didn’t support his actions.

In the past life, she had also helped An Ping repay debts.

At least An Ping knew regret at that time, and before he died, he learned to protect her, taking a knife for her.

Second uncle also took a beating for father. An Hao acknowledged he might have been hurt, but she believed he felt that way only because his brother died and no one would pay for his future anymore.

It’s not that An Hao thought poorly of her second uncle’s humanity; it’s just that all his actions gave no reason to view him kindly.

”I heard he owed a lot of money?” Ning Yibin asked.

”He owed fifty thousand in total. He paid off thirty thousand; only twenty thousand remains.” An Hao replied.

”If you don’t have enough money, there’s still some in your mother’s and my savings account.”

”I have money.” An Ping’s vegetable company has her shares, and it’s doing well. She’s not short on cash, ”But I won’t give it to them. Dad, don’t think I’m heartless. If I don’t do this, eventually the ones being dragged down will be us!”

”I understand your point.” Ning Yibin sipped his tea, ”I had a call with the city police department this afternoon. They’ve interrogated those debt collectors. One of them said he was truly out of options. He’s been in this line of work for a while and dealt with all sorts of people. Your second uncle’s family really played them well. They’ve borrowed quite a lot and yet refuse to pay back. They run all over the world, and debt chasers follow them everywhere. Now they’ve cornered them, so they’re saying they won’t let them off.”

”I know.” An Hao couldn’t help but mock, ”My second uncle’s family really has high acting skills, almost like film emperors.”

Ning Yibin laughed: ”However, I negotiated a bit. There’s still room for maneuvering. The other side said they must repay the twenty thousand, no time limit, and no further interest will accrue! Just pay off this twenty thousand.”

”That’s great. Once they’re discharged, let them raise money themselves. It’s completely doable to slowly repay the debt through their labor.” This is a nice solution.
