Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 1848: Chapter 1847: Lying, Aren’t You?

The woman seemed to have seen through the disappointment in Hou Zicheng’s eyes, but she didn’t point it out.

She walked straight to a set of sofas near the window and crossed her legs: “Technically speaking, you should call me Hong Mei.”

“Your name?” Hou Zicheng asked. “But it sounds more like a codename.”

“Whatever. You think it’s a name, take it as a name. You think it’s a codename, you can treat it as a codename.” Hong Mei said nonchalantly, “In my eyes, a name is just a codename.”

“Fine. Hong Mei, I’ve been looking forward to your arrival.”

“Lying, aren’t you?” Hong Mei looked at Hou Zicheng, her voice calm without any ripples, “I clearly saw disappointment in your eyes just now! Extremely disappointed expression!”

“Haha.” Hou Zicheng gave two dry laughs to cover his embarrassment, “My disappointment just now was from a man’s perspective, disappointed in you as a woman. But as a colleague, I’ve never been disappointed in you.”

“Hope you’re telling the truth.”

“Yes! I’m absolutely telling the truth, not lying to you.” Hou Zicheng defended himself.

“Whether you’re telling the truth or lying doesn’t matter. It has nothing to do with me. I need your cooperation and help.” Hong Mei began.

“This… is a bit unexpected!” Hou Zicheng never doubted Blood Rose’s capabilities verbally, but he was somewhat opposed to her seeking help as soon as she arrived.

Hong Mei seemed displeased with this, frowned and said, “Cang Lang gave you an order, right? Provide all the help you can! What I want to do is my business; you just need to follow orders and cooperate.”

“Oh, are you angry?” Hou Zicheng chuckled, “Alright, I shouldn’t have doubted your capabilities, state your requests, I’ll do my best to help you.”

“Okay. Come closer.”

Hong Mei whispered a few words in Hou Zicheng’s ear, and Hou Zicheng was immediately shocked: “No way! Absolutely not! The risk is too high, a moment of carelessness will bring trouble. Are you crazy for coming up with this plan.”

“Not crazy. You just need to cooperate. I’m not afraid of exposure, what are you scared of?” Hong Mei was dissatisfied with Hou Zicheng’s timid attitude, “If everyone were like you, we might as well not do this job anymore.”

“It’s the first time I’ve heard such a crazy plan.” Hou Zicheng disagreed and didn’t dare to agree.

If anything went wrong because of his cooperation, and Hong Mei was compromised, the organization lost a key figure, he figured Cang Lang would skin him alive.

“Crazy? These are methods that are almost obsolete out there. To you, they’re the craziest methods. Just tell me whether you’re in or out. If you can’t do it, I’ll apply directly for Cang Lang to replace you.” Hong Mei said angrily, “I’ve executed so many missions, and it’s the first time I’ve encountered someone as useless as you. You have three minutes, give me your answer in three minutes.”

Hou Zicheng was insulted harshly, and although he was older than the young girl in front of him, he still had to follow her lead and listen to her insults, which made him really angry.

But when Cang Lang left, he instructed him to obey Blood Rose’s orders and cooperate with her actions. If he didn’t obey the orders, Cang Lang wouldn’t give him a good outcome.

Since Hong Mei is willing to take this risk, he’ll just fully cooperate.
