Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1831: Chapter 1830: You’re Crazy!

“I’m not cleaning up that room anymore!” An Ping said, shaking his head, “It’s all taken over by Second Uncle’s family. How can I tidy it up? I’ll sleep in the same room as Dad, okay?”

“True.” An Hao paused her actions, suddenly remembering something, “Hey, An Ping, don’t you think something seems a bit wrong about this situation? Second Uncle ran away from home after his divorce, and he didn’t have any kids at that time! This woman must be someone he found later on, so even if they had kids, they shouldn’t be this old, right?”

“Yeah! When Second Uncle left home, we weren’t that young! How can this kid be around our age? He shouldn’t be older than me, right?” An Ping was puzzled too.

“Go over and listen to what they’re saying. Make sure, whatever you do, that Second Uncle doesn’t team up with outsiders to cheat Dad out of his money!” An Hao quickly said.

“Alright.” An Ping jumped out of the room.

In the north room, a few people were discussing matters of repaying debt.

An Baoguo, with snot and tears, shared with An Shuchao all the miserable days he had endured over the years, even recounting when An Hui was hit by a car and nearly hacked to death.

An Shuchao listened with reddened eyes, his heart aching.

His soft heart led him to open the cabinet and take out the passbook hidden in the pocket of some clothes, handing it to An Baoguo: “I have a three thousand yuan passbook here. Let the kids pay off some debt tomorrow, and I’ll find a way to handle the remaining amount.”

“Thank you, brother! My family thanks you!” An Baoguo, along with his family, bowed to his older brother.

An Ping walked in just as this scene unfolded.

“What’s going on…” He hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw the passbook clutched in An Baoguo’s hand and instantly understood, “Dad, what are you doing? That’s your retirement money, are you crazy!”

“I’m not crazy. An Ping, just leave it alone, this is my brother, your Second Uncle! I can’t ignore your Second Uncle, just like if something happened to you, your sister wouldn’t be able to ignore you either!” An Shuchao said helplessly to his son.

“It’s not the same!” An Ping rushed forward trying to grab the passbook from An Baoguo’s hand, “Dad, you’re already old, where will you get money? This is basically your life savings!”

An Ping was frantically trying to snatch the money, while An Baoguo was desperately trying to protect it.

Jiang Guixiang and An Hui came to help, and the four of them wrestled into a heap, throwing punches, clawing, and scratching—none willing to let go first.

“Enough! Enough!” An Shuchao watched, angry, suddenly bursting into a roar and slammed the teapot onto the ground, “Let go, all of you let go of me!”

The air suddenly quieted down, only An Shuchao’s heavy breathing could be heard.

“An Ping, give the passbook to your Second Uncle!”

“No!” An Ping was resolute, “Dad, that’s like feeding a meat bun to a dog…”

“Give it to him!!”

Looking at his father’s furious face, An Ping felt a sense of unfamiliarity for the first time.

He opened his mouth to say something to his father, but ultimately held back, throwing the passbook onto the ground before kicking aside a chair and slamming the door as he left.

He stormed into An Hao’s room, saying only one sentence before leaving home: “Dad’s gone crazy! Completely crazy!”

An Hao didn’t eat or cook lunch.

She laid on the bed the whole afternoon, pondering how to solve the current issue.
