Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1731: Chapter 1730: Carry Some Weapons for Self-defense

”You flatter!” Qin Jian held An Hao tightly, lowered his head, and kissed her deeply before saying, ”Looks like this trip wasn’t wasted. Not only did I see my wife, but I also got some useful information.”

”Oh? Was it my inspiration?” An Hao tilted her head up, smiling brightly at Qin Jian.

”Of course.” Qin Jian’s voice gradually deepened, ”If they’re willing to take risks knowing it’s just a military exercise, then I believe they also won’t easily leave the area near the border.”

”That’s right. You could work with the local narcotics squad to investigate whether there are frequent smugglers or drug traffickers in the area. Then follow that trail down! You might actually uncover something!”

An Hao’s words seemed to spark a realization for Qin Jian, as a scene suddenly flashed through his mind.

He seemed to recall Zhao Dong mentioning seeing Lin Sheng in this small county.

Previously, he and Zhao Dong had analyzed that Lin Sheng’s father-in-law might be involved in drug trafficking. Later, when Lin Sheng escaped from the military, he came to this small county.

If this is the case, doesn’t it indirectly indicate that Mu Qiankun is very likely involved in drug trafficking near the border?

Seeing Qin Jian silent, An Hao knew he had figured out something, so she quickly asked, ”Did you discover something new?”

”A bold assumption! I don’t know if I’m right, but it’s worth a shot!” Qin Jian said, standing up and preparing to leave, ”I’m heading back to the base. You stay here obediently in the hospital. When it’s time to return, you go back. I can’t stay here long anyway! We’ll meet again when we’re home!”

”What? You’re leaving so soon?” An Hao asked.

”Yeah! The fact that I can come see you is thanks to the senior commander’s special approval! He couldn’t bear it after your tears softened him.” Qin Jian laughed, putting on his hat as he spoke.

”But the time was so short. Barely half an hour.” An Hao said regretfully.

Seeing An Hao a bit dispirited, Qin Jian stepped forward and gently hugged her, ”Come on, don’t be sad! Once we’re back home, we’ll meet again. I’m yours for life, yet you’re this reluctant over just a little time apart.”

Reluctantly, An Hao released Qin Jian and obediently nodded.

As Qin Jian turned and walked out, he returned at the door and said, ”Hey, carry something for self-defense! The border area’s pretty chaotic! Also, I just sneaked in and kissed you, yet you didn’t even resist?”

”Nonsense! I know your scent too well. If I hadn’t realized it was you, I would’ve slapped you long ago.” An Hao laughed.

”My wife, impressive!” Qin Jian gave her a thumbs-up before closing the door and walking away.

Back at the base, Qin Jian reported his thoughts to Zhang Jianguo.

Zhang Jianguo judged that the plan seemed feasible. Since that’s the case, they contacted the local Public Security Bureau at the border and requested cooperation from their narcotics squad to apprehend the drug traffickers.

After reviewing past case files, the narcotics squad focused on a man nicknamed ”Old Four.”

This man was extremely cunning.

He had escaped capture multiple times. If he surfaced again this time, they were determined to apprehend him!

That same day, there was a big operation in the city as police officers went door-to-door, conducting checks.

Mu Qiankun received the news and was exceedingly anxious: ”It’s all because of your mess! Now look at this. The police must’ve sensed the collaboration between them and the military, pulling off such a massive operation! It’s practically a carpet search! How are we supposed to escape now? Where would we go?”

Mouse pondered briefly before saying, ”Looks like we need to find some kind of cover...”
