Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1713: Chapter 1712: Extremely Arrogant

”Commander... we’ve got to come up with something. This won’t do!” Zhao Dong was very anxious, knowing this was the first time he’d encountered such a situation, despite having participated in many military exercises.

”How’s the situation with Battalion Three?” Zhang Jianguo turned his head to ask Qin Jian.

”Just got off the line with him, it seems the situation isn’t looking good,” said Qin Jian.

No sooner had this conversation ended than an urgent plea for help blared through the command post’s radio: ”Commander, Commander, this is Wuzi, requesting support! Our tank has malfunctioned! And then we were ambushed. These bastards... they are not human, they actually damaged the tracks of the tank. Our entire tank regiment was nearly encircled...”

”Damn! They’re really tough!” Zhao Dong cursed in anger, ”Are you kidding me? Just a few guys have us running in circles! I suggest we let the regiment commander lead some men to give them a good thrashing!”

”Yeah! These guys are really arrogant!” Zhang Jianguo nodded, slamming his hand on the table, ”Qin Jian, you go! Go help Wuzi!”

”Yes, Commander!” Qin Jian accepted the order, picking up a semi-automatic rifle from the ground and said to Zhao Dong, ”Go, take your men with me!”

”Yes!” Energized by the command, Zhao Dong replied, ”Let’s go, fight the bastards! Let those sons of bunnies taste our strength.”

Having received the coordinates, Qin Jian led his men swiftly through the dense forest, moving as agile as a cheetah, without making a sound but the swishing of the leaves and the tapping of raindrops.

The team behind him followed his pace like a phantom; they were just there a second ago, and in the blink of an eye, all vanished from sight.

As they drew closer to the incident location, the sound of gunfire became clearer and louder.

Qin Jian signaled with his hand, and Zhao Dong, following behind him, quickly passed the gesture on to everyone else.

So, everyone lay flat on the ground, ammo in chambers, ready to fight at any moment.

In the rainy night when you can’t see your hand in front of your face, looking from the woods toward the only clearing in the middle, you could only see shadows flitting across. The gunfire did not erupt in volleys but one shot at a time.

With each shot, one person fell.

No one dared to make a sound for fear that even the slightest noise would reveal their position.

”Damn!” Zhao Dong couldn’t help muttering under his breath, ”This is like fighting blind! What’s there to fight? A bunch of special forces surrounding a tank regiment, they’re really bullying us!”

”Bullying doesn’t exist here!” Qin Jian whispered back, ”If this was a real battlefield, would you still think it’s bullying? No matter the method, surviving until the end is all that matters!”

”They’re not playing by the rules!” Zhao Dong complained.

”How do special forces usually train? They stop at nothing, spare no means to win. So, be very careful when you engage with them.”

”Their training is much tougher than ours. To be honest, we can’t beat them.”

”Your training is not bad either! Don’t boost their morale and lose your own fighting spirit!” Qin Jian said in a low voice.

Suddenly, another gunshot rang out.

A warrior cursed as he yelled, ”I’m honored! Avenge me!”

No sooner had he spoken, than another gunshot was heard, followed by more cursing: ”What’s the meaning of this? Picking on me, right? All of you are dead, and you still come at me!”
