Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1711: Chapter 1710: Are You Trying to Infuriate Me to Death?

At this moment, the Rat came back.

He glanced at Lin Sheng and then headed straight for Mu Qiankun who was sitting in a chair cracking sunflower seeds. He whispered something into his ear.

After hearing it, Mu Qiankun slammed the table angrily and stood up abruptly, “Mu Mian, get the hell out here! Are you trying to piss me to death?”

Mu Mian buried her head deeply into the quilt, neither looking nor listening.

“Bro Kun, don’t be mad! Just keep a tight watch on Lin Sheng. Mianmian won’t leave him behind,” the Rat suggested slyly with shifty eyes.

“You’re right!” Mu Qiankun gave Rat a meaningful look, “Go, take Lin Sheng out to relax a bit.”

“Alright.”

“Uncle Mu! Uncle Mu! You can’t do this to me, I am your future son-in-law. If you ruin me, who will bring happiness to Mianmian?” Lin Sheng clung tightly to the door frame, refusing to let go.

These past few days, his drug use had increasingly become more frequent. In his struggle against the addiction, he had been trying very hard to restrain himself.

That agonizing torture that tore at his heart and threatened his life was so unbearable that he almost wished he could tear his skin off.

However, he knew things would get progressively better if he could just hold on a little longer.

These days, while his addiction was not too severe yet, he still had a chance to kick the habit successfully. If it got any deeper, his life would truly be over.

Mu Mian was drawn out by Lin Sheng’s voice. She stood at the door with a face full of fury, scissors in hand: “Come on, if I discover you doing this once more, let’s just escalate things and have it all out!”

Mu Qiankun looked solemnly at Mu Mian: “Put down the scissors!”

“Then you let Lin Sheng go first!” Mu Mian demanded angrily.

“I… Alright then!” Mu Qiankun glanced at the Rat.

Although reluctant, he let Lin Sheng go and then said to Mu Mian, “Remember, this is the last time. If you call the cops again, the consequences will be seriously dire.”

Mu Mian gave him a cold look, threw the scissors at his feet with a flick of the wrist, and grabbed Lin Sheng, heading back into the house.

“This can’t go on, Bro Kun! Look at the time, Lin Sheng just isn’t getting it! I have a feeling they’ll mess it up sooner or later,” Rat said with concern.

“Sigh!” Mu Qiankun let out a long sigh. He had thought that dealing drugs was always hazardous, and one can never truly know what’s in a person’s heart.

If he could make Lin Sheng his son-in-law and get him in on the business…

Maybe it would be safer this way since he cherished Mianmian so much, and it was less likely he would be betrayed.

But now, it seemed Lin Sheng was unreliable.

“We can’t let them go now. Once they’re set free, if he and Mianmian decide to go to the police, we’re all finished!” Mu Qiankun was now caught in a dilemma.

“Then we have no choice but to keep a constant eye on them,” Rat stated, clenching his fists.

Mu Qiankun nodded. It seemed the only option was this: “We’re now just waiting for news from Fourth and the others, to find out if the route we’re going to take is safe. Once they return safely and say there’s no danger, that’s when we’ll make our move!”

“Got it, Bro Kun!”

………………………

In the dense forests of the mountains, Fourth led a small team dressed in camouflage, moving stealthily with bent waists.

“Damn it’s exhausting. Fourth bro, can’t we just walk upright?” The tall and hefty man was really uncomfortable hunching over.
