Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1626: Chapter 1626: Some Minor Issues

“Ah, right, look at how muddled my mind is… I just asked auntie for a photo! Wouldn’t it have been more direct if I asked for the name?” Lin Qiushu said, slapping her forehead.

“What? You guys talked for so long and didn’t ask the name?” An Hao, busy in the kitchen, hadn’t noticed this at all.

“Then we’ll have to go back again and ask.”

“No need. I can just call home from the guardhouse reception.” After An Hao said this, she walked up and knocked on the reception’s door, making a call to her house from inside.

Hearing the phone ring at home, Zhang Yun picked it up.

“What? My mother’s name?” Zhang Yun slapped her forehead, “Look at us, all confused. We didn’t even think of that. My mother’s last name is Zhang, she is called Zhang…”

After hanging up the phone, An Hao frowned and after coming out of the reception room, she said to Lin Qiushu, “I have some not-so-good news to tell you…”

Before Lin Qiushu could ask, An Hao just bluntly said, “The names don’t match!”

“What do you mean the names don’t match?” After hearing this, Lin Qiushu thought for a moment, “No worries. Let’s first see if the photo matches.”

“Alright then, hurry up. We are all waiting for your news.”

Lin Qiushu nodded, bid farewell to An Hao, and then drove off.

………………

At dinner time, An Hao’s family gathered around the table, happily eating their meal. The conversation at the table was still revolving around Lin Qiushu and Yan Ye.

“When do you think those two will get married?” Zhang Yun asked An Hao.

“That depends on their own wishes. Anyway, I’ve introduced them; how it develops from there is up to them,” An Hao said while eating.

“I think they have a chance,” Ning Yibin rarely voiced his opinion, “Actually, Xiaoye and Qiushu make a good match. Xiaoye is more reserved, and Qiushu is more lively.”

“If these two make it, wouldn’t Old Feng be over the moon?” Zhang Yun could imagine it clearly.

“He’d probably laugh himself awake in his dreams,” Ning Yibin said.

“Isn’t that the truth…”

While the family ate and chatted, An Hao suddenly remembered that Lin Qiushu had been gone for so long without any news yet.

“Mom, Lin Qiushu took the photo for such a long time, why hasn’t there been any news? Could it be her or not?”

“Now that you mention it, I remember too. It’s been known since early afternoon. It should just involve recognizing a person, we aren’t clear but the old lady should know best,” Zhang Yun also felt puzzled.

“What exactly is the situation?” Zhang Yun shook her head.

“Could it be that they are too excited?” Qin Jian suggested, “I think if that’s the case, the possibility is very high. If it’s not her, they probably would have called us quickly.”

“That’s also possible,” An Hao nodded, “The old lady’s health is indeed worrisome.”

It could be that the old lady got too excited and something happened.

“Possibly…” Zhang Yun agreed.

The telephone in the living room rang, DINGLINGLINGLING!

Qin Jian stood up to answer the call.

After listening to the call, a solemn expression appeared on his face.

“What’s wrong?” An Hao saw his expression change and quickly asked.

“Just now a call from the guardhouse! They said an old lady has been standing outside the door and won’t leave, she said she’s looking for the Commander’s place to see if her granddaughter Lin Qiushu is still there.”

An Hao was startled: “Qiushu’s grandma came? Does this mean Lin Qiushu hasn’t returned home?”

“That’s right.” Qin Jian nodded, then said to An Hao, “I’ll go out and bring the old lady here and ask her what exactly is happening.”

“I’ll go with you.” An Hao put down her chopsticks and stood up, leaving with Qin Jian.

At the military compound’s gate, a black sedan was parked.

In the night, Lin Qiushu’s grandmother stood next to the sedan, leaning on a cane, unmoving like a statue, waiting for someone.
