Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1621: Chapter 1621: What Does It Taste Like?

”Check out your hands!” Lin Qiushu raised her hand and pointed at his beautiful fingers, ”I’ve always heard that surgeons’ hands are the most good-looking. I didn’t believe it before, but now I suppose I do.”

”Are you complimenting my hands?” Yan Ye asked.

”I guess so! Actually, I’m complimenting all surgeons’ hands! Like yours, and like An Hao’s hands...”

”You’re wrong.” Yan Ye pointed out her mistake, ”What you think looks good is only me and An Hao! Not all surgeons’ hands are pretty, some are ugly! It’s true that surgeons’ hands are incredibly flexible though.”

Lin Qiushu frowned as she looked at him: ”You really don’t hold back when praising yourself, do you!”

”I’m not praising. I’m just stating the facts,” Yan Ye said earnestly.

”Fine! You must be one of the favored ones by heaven, right? Indeed, the world of the talented differs from us ordinary people. What we consider praise and flattery, you see as plain statements...” Lin Qiushu looked at him, her words laced with a teasing tone.

”Mocking me?” Yan Ye frowned slightly, bending down a bit to look at her, their eyes locking onto each other’s.

In Yan Ye’s eyes, Lin Qiushu saw a deep and profound blue like the ocean, filled with an irresistible attraction, as if she was completely surrounded and unable to escape from a whirlpool.

She had never looked at this cardiothoracic surgeon from such a close distance like this. This time, peering through his indifferent facade and his pretty eyes, she saw the captivating and gentle side deep within his heart.

Lin Qiushu’s face blushed slightly, her cheeks felt hot; hastily, she averted her gaze, her long, thick eyelashes concealing the autumnal ripples in her eyes.

Yan Ye felt a slight regret, using the moment she looked away to carefully observe her. Her tall and elegant nose, and below it a pair of lush, moist lips - those lips painted a vivid red, akin to the vibrant rose blossoms blooming in the summer.

Suddenly, Yan Ye was struck with an unprecedented impulse and idea.

He wanted to try...

”What are you still looking at?” The heat on Lin Qiushu’s face slowly dissipated, and as she looked up, she caught Yan Ye staring at her.

”I’m looking at your lipstick,” Yan Ye said unhesitatingly.

”What’s so interesting about lipstick?” Lin Qiushu laughed, finding it strange to discuss lipstick with a man for the first time.

”I’m contemplating a question...”

”What question?”

”What does lipstick taste like,” Yan Ye said, looking at her lips.

Lin Qiushu, an otherwise sharp-witted woman, saw her IQ drop to zero in the face of love, stared at Yan Ye in astonishment and asked, ”Is it that doctors always have such unusual lines of thinking? While everyone else is concerned about the color, are you really focused on its taste?”

”Why? Is that not allowed?”

”It is allowed... I suppose,” Lin Qiushu said, looking at his serious expression and lowering her head, ”Just hold on a second! Let me find it...”

After speaking, she rummaged through her handbag and pulled out the red lipstick, handing it to him, ”Are you sure you really want to taste...”

Before she could finish, her vision was obscured by a shadow leaning forward; she hadn’t even reacted when she felt a warm touch on her lips, enveloped by a thin pair of lips.
