Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1610: Chapter 1610: Your Safety is Most Important

During this time, he inquired about Wang Quezi’s affairs near where Wang Quezi lived.

Only then did he discover that Wang Quezi had been silent for a long time.

He had been in prison once, and after coming out, he seemed to have transformed into a different person, living reclusively and no longer appearing in public.

As he maintained this silence, the nickname Wang Quezi gradually faded from people’s sight.

The elderly lady had lived most of her life with considerable caution.

She held her granddaughter’s hand and said earnestly, ”Listen to grandma’s advice, I’ve waited all these years, a little longer won’t make a difference.”

”But grandma...”

”Qiushu, listen to me! I really don’t want you to encounter any more trouble.” The old lady held Lin Qiushu’s hand tightly and looked up at her, ”I am truly worried. My younger brother—your granduncle—was taken by him and has been missing ever since. My sister went looking for him and she too disappeared.”

”Grandma, I know this; you’ve told me before.”

”Qiushu, I’m really very worried, do you know?”

”Do you worry he harmed your sister? That’s why, now that I’m about to meet Wang Quezi, you’re having second thoughts, right?”

”If only that were all. My heart dreads if he and my sister had a child. How am I to face such a future?”

Lin Qiushu slowly crouched down and gently touched the old lady’s hand, ”Grandma, don’t worry. We will never associate with a criminal’s family. Besides, I believe my aunt would rather die than surrender to such a beast.”

”Good. Good!” The elderly lady nodded and raised her hand to wipe her blurry eyes, ”Remember, grandma’s words. Whatever happens, your safety is the most important.”

”Don’t worry, grandma.”

Seeing her granddaughter so obedient, the old lady smiled and gently tidied Lin Qiushu’s hair, ”Go on. Bring me back a wonderful grandson-in-law.”

Lin Qiushu blushed. ”Grandma... nothing is set yet, how can you be so hasty?”

The elderly lady laughed heartily, ”Hearing you say that reassures me. You better go now, it’s not good to be late.”

Lin Qiushu left home, drove directly to Wang Quezi’s house.

His family lived in an old alley, deep inside was a courtyard.

She parked her car at the entrance of the alley, and just as she was about to walk in, she saw a few old ladies chatting at the entrance of the alley.

The content of their conversation drew her over.

”Did you hear any noise from Wang Quezi’s home yesterday?”

”No. My house is too far away, did you hear something?”

”It sounded like killing a chicken to me.”

”Killing a chicken? You must have heard wrong. He is old and sick, hardly has days left, how would he have the strength to get up and kill a chicken?”

”Could it be someone from his family has returned?”

”Who else is there in his family? Just a useless son left.”

”I heard his son got into trouble and is now being chased by the public security bureau.”

”Oh no, could it be he has come back? His son is no good either, truly a scourge. You better stay as far away from there as possible these days.”

”He wouldn’t dare. The public security bureau is after him everywhere. Don’t worry, old sisters.”

Lin Qiushu walked over and asked very politely, ”Ladies, from what you’re saying, has Wang Quezi’s child come back?”
