Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1450: Chapter 1550: Pointed Out by Thousands

The hospital director stood up and first talked about the purpose of today’s meeting.

”As everyone knows, last year our hospital experienced a medical accident. At the time, due to a hasty decision by the hospital, without thorough investigation, the incident was attributed to our intern, An Hao. Later, our hospital felt that this was inappropriate and entrusted the investigation to Ji Chuan and Yan Ye, two of our very outstanding attending physicians. Now, the real person responsible for the accident has been found! It is Ma Mei, the attending physician in the department of cardiac surgery!”

Actually, people had already known behind closed doors that this matter was related to Ma Mei.

But when the hospital director announced it, it still caused a huge uproar.

The doctors were all whispering and discussing the matter.

”I can’t believe Dr. Ma turned out to be such a person.”

”People really can’t be judged by their appearance! She seemed so nice before!”

”She’s too malicious, clearly it was her doing, yet she let someone else take the blame! This is really... better to steer clear of her from now on, right?”

”I guess she will definitely be fired this time. For a whole year, such a long time, she kept silent, watching a young intern girl be criticized and attacked!”

”It’s hard to know what’s in a person’s heart even if you know their face! It’s really shocking.”

Ma Mei sat below the stage, the torrent of speech bombarding her ears. In an instant, she became the target of public scorn and was unable to say a word in her own defense in the face of such strong public opinion.

This barrage of spittle could indeed drown her.

She now understood the feelings An Hao had when she was unable to defend herself.

Ma Mei looked up at An Hao and saw a faint, almost imperceptible smile at the corner of her mouth as she looked at her. Ma Mei knew it was the smile of a victor!

After a lengthy speech by the hospital director, he apologized on behalf of the hospital to An Hao and then directed the topic to the true culprit of the incident, Ma Mei: ”Dr. Ma, please come up on stage and apologize to Dr. An and all the colleagues in the hospital.”

Ma Mei, with a red face, stood up and slowly walked toward the stage.

Standing on the stage and looking at all her colleagues, seeing their disdainful gazes, Ma Mei slowly lowered her head and said, ”This whole affair was my fault from beginning to end! It has nothing to do with Dr. An! I made a mistake, and, fearing the consequences, I took advantage of the situation when nobody noticed to shift the blame onto Dr. An! I am sorry to Dr. An and have betrayed the trust of my colleagues. Again, I apologize to Dr. An and all colleagues and am willing to accept all the punishment from the hospital.”

After she finished speaking, there was complete silence below the stage.

The director’s gaze then turned to An Hao, ”Dr. An, would you like to say a few words?”

An Hao stood up slowly under the gaze of everyone and said just one sentence, ”I hope everyone can be treated fairly and justly. I also hope that such incidents will not happen again! Thank you!”

She didn’t say she would forgive Ma Mei, nor would she forgive Ma Mei!

She would never forgive such a malicious person for as long as she lived!

After An Hao had spoken, there was thunderous applause from below the stage!

The director also took the opportunity to announce the hospital’s decision: ”The hospital has decided to dismiss Dr. Ma! At the same time, Dr. An’s internship qualifications will be reinstated!”

”Good!” After the director finished speaking, everyone stood up and applauded.
