Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1448: Chapter 1448: Wanting to Be Selfish for Once

An Hao returned home when the sky had already darkened.

Ning Yibin had come back from the military, and he was in the living room, rocking the cradle and taking care of the two treasures.

Zhang Yun was preparing dinner in the kitchen.

Hearing An Hao’s movements, she walked out of the kitchen with a spatula in hand and hurriedly asked An Hao, ”How did the matter turn out?”

A smile crept up the corners of An Hao’s mouth, revealing a relieved grin, ”Mom, don’t worry anymore! The patient has woken up and identified Ma Mei! The hospital has already started to prepare a meeting to discuss how to deal with her. Tomorrow the hospital director will convene a meeting of all the staff, and she will apologize to me at the meeting! And I, I might also take this opportunity to return to the hospital.”

After hearing this, Zhang Yun was both happy and worried, ”I really can’t tell if it’s a good thing or not that you are going back to the hospital at this critical moment.”

”What do you mean by that?” An Hao was puzzled.

Zhang Yun motioned with her lips, ”You ask your dad!”

”Dad? Is there going to be some activity in the military?” An Hao set her bag down, took off her coat, and hung it on the rack as she asked.

While soothing the children, Ning Yibin said, ”This afternoon, we just got news from the disaster area. The situation is not looking good, with aftershocks continuing and the number of casualties still increasing! Now, various hospitals have already dispatched medical teams to the rescue. Naturally, our military hospital cannot fall behind! In the coming days, we are going to deploy waves of medical teams to the disaster area.”

”I see.” An Hao had guessed as much.

As a military hospital, how could they remain indifferent?

”The vanguard medical team has already arrived! From tomorrow, they will start going in waves,” Ning Yibin said.

”Okay,” An Hao nodded, already making plans in her mind. ”Dad, if I want to go, would you allow me?”

Ning Yibin looked at An Hao and after a long while, he shook his head: ”I’ve lived my life without being selfish. This time, I would like to be a bit selfish. An Hao, dad doesn’t want you to go to the disaster zone.”

Hearing An Hao’s words, Zhang Yun also hurried out of the kitchen, ”An Hao, you can’t go! Qin Jian has already gone, and I don’t want you to go too. Besides, you’ve seen it, these two children are still nursing. They can’t be without you!”

An Hao gently nodded, ”I understand. This is also what dad thinks, right?”

Ning Yibin nodded, ”Child, I understand how you feel! I know you love Qin Jian, and you love your profession, but don’t forget, you are also a mother of two children now! If... I mean, if something happens, I can’t let both of you...”

”Dad, I understand how you feel. Don’t worry, as an intern, the hospital wouldn’t send me anyway,” An Hao said with a smile.

”That’s good,” Zhang Yun sighed with relief.

An Hao crouched down, picked up one of the little ones, and gently kissed them, whispering, ”I am the mother of the children, of course I love my kids! Isn’t that right, my little treasure?”

Feeling the love of their mother, the little one clenched their fists tightly, waving them and laughing.

”By the way, dad, how’s Qin Jian doing over there?” An Hao asked.

Ning Yibin shook his head, ”No news from him for the time being. It was heard he led people up the mountain for a rescue, and they haven’t come back yet.”
