Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1367: Chapter 1367: Giving a Chance to Reform

Three months in the detention center was like peeling a layer of skin off Qin Fen.

His hair was shaved, his body was much thinner than before, and his clothes hung loose on him, his cheeks sunken in.

His arms, exposed from his clothes, were covered with various sizes of scars.

It was as though he had walked through hell and back.

During those three months in the precinct, his mother visited Qin Fen the most.

In his heart, he was most grateful to Li Junping.

Seeing his mother cry, he hurriedly stopped the car, stepped forward, and hugged her tightly, ”Mom, stop crying, I’m back now, aren’t I?”

”My son, you have suffered so much. You are the apple of Mom’s eye, seeing you suffer breaks my heart.”

Qin Fen also teared up as Li Junping spoke, ”I know the person who loves me the most in this family is you! Don’t worry, I will definitely take good care of you in the second half of my life, Mom, and I won’t make you angry anymore.”

”Good, that’s my good son.” Li Junping dried her tears and smiled, ”Come on, let’s go home now. Mom will make dumplings for you.”

”Okay.” Qin Fen nodded vigorously in agreement.

Mother and son seemed to have forgotten the existence of Song Yueqin and were about to head back.

Seeing this, Song Yueqin hurriedly called out, ”Mom! I’m back.”

Li Junping did not intend to acknowledge her, while Song Yueqin grabbed Qin Fen’s hand and walked towards home.

Seeing that her mother-in-law was ignoring her, she quickly called out again, ”Mom! I... I’m back.”

Song Yueqin hadn’t visited for a year and a half after Qin Fen broke her leg.

Moreover, Song Yueqin’s mother often said that Qin Fen brought this prison disaster upon himself due to too many misdeeds.

When Li Junping heard this, she really wanted to strangle her.

She had to restrain herself multiple times to suppress that impulse.

During those three months Qin Fen was in prison, Song Yueqin hadn’t even shown her face.

She never even inquired about Qin Fen’s well-being.

Now that Qin Fen had returned, she eagerly ran over, calling her mother, wanting to enter the house.

That wasn’t going to happen.

Li Junping’s attitude was clear, and Song Yueqin could clearly see it.

She knew passing this hurdle with her in-laws would be tough, so she needed to put on a stance of utmost humility.

”Mom, I know you are angry with me. I know I have been wrong, often causing you and Dad distress. But I won’t do it anymore! I know my mistakes, please give me a chance to start anew,” Song Yueqin said humbly.

”I dare not,” Li Junping eyed her skeptically, her eyebrows raised high, ”The people from your old Song Family are too cunning, our old Qin can’t provoke them! Besides, everyone in the village knows what you did! A worn shoe that others have discarded, our Qin Fen won’t wear!”

”Mom, you can scold me however you like. As long as you can calm down, and accept me back home, that’s enough!”

”No need, you should just leave.” Li Junping’s family had money now, and she spoke with authority, ”Our Qin Fen doesn’t need a wife like you. We will find another wife! We can set aside whether she is beautiful or not, the most important thing is that she must be clean!”

Qin Fen had just returned and was already annoyed listening to these two women bickering relentlessly over this matter, ”Enough, both of you stop arguing! Getting another wife would also cost money, wouldn’t it? Besides, with my condition now, even if I were to meet the seven fairies, there would be no reaction. Since Song Yueqin has put me in this state, I’ll just drag her down with me for life! Let it be then!”
