Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1353: Chapter 1353: Holding in a Rotten Fart All Day to Look for Trouble

Li Junping had just entered the door and placed a small low table in the room, arranging two stools on either side of the table.

Qin Ru Hai brought over the family’s large tea jar, prepared some hot tea, and placed it in front of Lin Qiushu, ”Have some hot tea, warm up your body.”

Although it was July, the heavy rain had made it quite chilly, especially with wet feet splashing through water.

”Thank you, big brother.” Lin Qiushu politely thanked him.

Watching Lin Qiushu start to sip her tea, Qin Ru Hai gave Li Junping a meaningful glance, signaling her to go into the inner room.

Li Junping said to Lin Qiushu with a smile, ”Take your time drinking, I’ll just go have a word inside and come right out.”

”Please feel free to do so.”

As soon as she lifted the curtain and entered the inner room, Qin Ru Hai immediately began questioning Li Junping, ”You were nowhere to be seen early this morning, and now you’ve returned, can you explain where you went all morning?”

”I went to find Qin Jian,” Li Junping said.

”You went to the city? What’s really going on with you? Always rushing off to the military compound! Can’t you just live a normal life without stirring up trouble every day?” Qin Ru Hai started scolding his wife right away.

”Bah!” Li Junping spat fiercely on the ground, ”I went to the military compound, and Qin Jian didn’t even let me in through the door! Do you think I WANT to find him? It’s all for our son’s sake!”

”I’ve told you, what could possibly happen if Qin Fen spends three months in jail?” Qin Ru Hai shared the same view as Qin Jian on this issue.

”What could happen! Your son was nearly beaten to death, all bruised and battered without any resemblance to a human!” Li Junping’s eyes reddened and tears began streaming down her face as she spoke.

”He only has himself to blame. Was that bracelet even worth all this fuss? Look at all the trouble it’s caused,” Qin Ru Hai said, rather indifferent to money.

To him, family harmony held more importance than possessing a great amount of money.

Children who are filial, grandchildren around your knees, enjoying family bliss.

Nothing was more satisfying than that!

”What do you mean by making issue after issue! Do you know the value of that bracelet? It’s worth a lot! It has been passed down through our family for generations, at least since the time of the Republic! Just the other day, Wang Er mazi from our village sold two old coins and got forty-fifty yuan! A mere broken bowl even sold for thousands! I’m telling you, giving that thing to An Hao was a huge loss!”

Li Junping truly regretted her actions; how could she have been so foolish to try and trap An Hao?

Now, it was like throwing a meat bun to a dog; there was no getting it back.

”Enough! I don’t want you to mention that jade bracelet ever again! Otherwise, I’m really going to divorce you!” Qin Ru Hai scolded her and then walked out of the inner room.

Remembering that there was still a guest in the outer room, Li Junping also quickly followed, although her expression was extremely unpleasant.

”Big brother, Big sister. I heard all of your argument just now... Forgive my curiosity, but I’ve heard you mention ’bracelet’ several times... I just want to ask, what is so special about this bracelet that it caused such a dispute? Is it an heirloom?” Lin Qiushu said.

Qin Ru Hai and Li Junping both looked down, neither willing to speak.

Seeing this, Lin Qiushu quickly said, ”If it’s difficult for you, and you don’t want to talk about it, then I won’t ask any further...”

”No, no, no!” Li Junping nudged Qin Ru Hai, ”Tell the older sister about it!”
