Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1297: Chapter 1297: The Net Has Been Cast

Tracking!

An Hao was particularly sensitive to these two words. It seemed that Lin Qiushu had done this kind of thing more than once or twice, huh?

Was she tracking her just because she had her eye on the bracelet on her wrist that day at another jade store?

If that was the case, perhaps she could explain clearly why she was following her. Otherwise, An Hao really couldn’t figure out what Lin Qiushu’s purpose was in tracking her!

The clerk and An Hao were whispering to each other on the side, and Lin Qiushu, hearing this, looked over and said, ”Xiaozhu, what are you talking about over there with the customer?”

”Nothing! Nothing at all!” Xiaozhu said repeatedly, ”I’m just chatting with the customer about the bracelet.”

”I heard you speaking ill of me,” Lin Qiushu said, glaring at the clerk.

”No! Not at all! Where would I dare to speak ill of you? I’m just bored, chatting with the customer about our store, and making small talk,” the clerk answered hastily.

”Stop the chit-chat if it’s nothing. Come here, my customer has chosen a pendant, and you need to thread a nice red cord for it,” Lin Qiushu instructed.

”Right away! I’ll be right there,” the clerk said regretfully to An Hao, ”I can’t chat with you anymore, got to get back to work.”

”Okay. Go ahead,” An Hao smiled and nodded, ”I won’t disturb you any longer.”

The jade pendant from Gu Shuangshuang was truly worth every penny. Lin Qiushu had given it to her at the base price, not making a cent off her.

Gold has its value, but jade is priceless.

Gu Shuangshuang really saw that for herself.

Once the jade pendant was ready, the clerk placed it in a red wooden box. After all, Gu Shuangshuang was giving it as a gift, so an additional red jewelry box was provided.

Gu Shuangshuang was grateful and thanked Lin Qiushu repeatedly before preparing to leave with An Hao.

As they were leaving, Lin Qiushu took the initiative to say to An Hao, ”If you need anything, just come over! I will surely give you a good deal as well.”

An Hao gave a knowing smile, ”Boss Lin really knows how to do business generously! I thank you in advance! I will surely come if I need anything.”

Lin Qiushu pulled at the corner of her mouth, ”Welcome!”

Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao left Baozhen Jade Store. The store became empty again, and Lin Qiushu walked up to the clerk, crossed her arms, and looked at her askance, ”Confess, what bad things did you say about me just now?”

Clerk Xiaozhu patted her chest, saying, ”I swear I was only saying things to put you in a good light! Not a single word against you! Besides, I have to justify the high salary that you pay me, right?”

”It’s okay to speak ill of me. Did you tell them the important things I asked you to say?” Lin Qiushu questioned.

”I told them everything! About being crazy for jade, about looking for rare stones, and getting beaten up for it, nothing was left out,” Xiaozhu confirmed.

”Good,” Lin Qiushu nodded with satisfaction.

The net was woven and cast out; now all that remained was to wait and see how things unfolded.

After all these years, she had made it through; a few more days wouldn’t make a difference.

.........

Before long, the weather entered the hottest phase, and An Hao’s belly had grown much larger.

Six months pregnant, the two little ones in her belly had grown considerably, and her belly was round and full like a ball.

She had become much clumsier and heavier than before.

Zhang Yun looked at his daughter-in-law’s belly, which seemed to inflate like a balloon, and was overjoyed. Six months along, and in just a few more, she would be promoted to grandmother.
