Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1229: Chapter 1229: You Seem to be Interested in Me

”Mom, enough! Have you had your fill of gossip? Shouldn’t you be leaving now?” Yan Huan had been waiting impatiently.

”Alright, alright, alright! We’re leaving, okay?” Feng Yuzhi compromised.

”Let’s go, everyone out! Leave this place to Huan!” Yan Luquan also stood up from the sofa, signaling them to leave.

In the living room, only Cheng Yue and Yan Huan remained.

Yan Huan helped Cheng Yue to sit down on the sofa, then said, ”Okay, say whatever you want to say!”

Cheng Yue mustered up his energy to look at her, his words muffled, ”I heard... you might be interested in me?”

Yan Huan’s face turned red instantly, her eyes shimmering like autumn waters as she looked at him: ”Who told you that?”

”It doesn’t matter who said it! What’s important is...” Cheng Yue paused here, his blurry gaze resting on Yan Huan’s face.

It wasn’t clear if it was the alcohol or the soft night lights, but he found Yan Huan exceptionally enchanting that evening.

Especially her plump rosy lips, which looked incredibly tempting. Cheng Yue wasn’t sure what he was thinking, but he felt a dryness in his throat, licked his lips, and on impulse, cupped Yan Huan’s face, leaning in to kiss her.

Yan Huan saw Cheng Yue’s handsome face getting closer and closer, her heart pounding like thunder.

Just as their lips were about to meet, and she was about to close her eyes, she heard two restrained coughs from the staircase.

Yan Huan jumped in fright, turned to look towards the stairway, and saw Feng Yuzhi’s head poking out. Startled, she abruptly pushed Cheng Yue away.

Caught off guard, Cheng Yue was pushed off the sofa, falling backward. Yan Huan, seeing the situation was bad, quickly reached out to grab him, but it was a moment too late. All she heard was a thud as his head hit the ground, and he lay on the floor.

”Cheng Yue, are you okay? I didn’t mean to...” Yan Huan hurriedly went to help him up, continuously apologizing.

Witnessing the scene, the Yan family members couldn’t hold back any longer, and they all rushed out, quickly helping Cheng Yue up from the ground.

”How are you feeling? Are you alright?” Yan Ye checked the back of Cheng Yue’s head for injuries, then asked how he felt.

”A bit uncomfortable,” Cheng Yue said, holding his head, his brows tightly furrowed.

”Where?” Yan Ye asked.

”My stomach.” As soon as Cheng Yue finished speaking, he grabbed at Yan Ye’s shirt and vomited again with a retch.

Yan Ye instinctively dodged, and Cheng Yue’s vomit went everywhere, covering the sofa, the floor, and even his own clothes.

A strong, foul smell spread through the air, nearly making Feng Yuzhi vomit, who quickly pinched her nose and moved far away, ”This kid really knows how to cause trouble... All the way to our house just to throw up?”

”Mom, why do you talk so much? Can’t you come and help first?” Yan Huan, undeterred by the mess, cradled Cheng Yue and dragged him out of the pile of vomit.

”How do you expect me to help? By washing his clothes? Or giving him a bath?”

Yan Huan thought about it, then said to Feng Yuzhi and Yan Luquan, ”Then you guys stay far away. Don’t get it everywhere.”

”That’s a good idea.” Then, true to her word, Feng Yuzhi pulled Yan Luquan far away, watching Yan Huan bustle about alone.
