Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1226: Chapter 1226: Today Is Not Suitable for Traveling

Cheng Yue, after hearing An Hao’s words, obediently returned to his spot to ponder over the matter.

Having drunk quite a bit of alcohol, his mind fluctuated between clarity and confusion.

He had originally intended to allow his immature emotions to gradually fade and ultimately dissipate, but now, it seemed he had no choice but to face them.

Just as An Hao had said, if Yan Huan was waiting for him, he indeed needed to explain things to her.

An Hao glanced at Cheng Yue, who was drinking in the corner, and asked Qin Jian with some concern, ”Could he have drunk too much?”

”Leave him be. He can hold his liquor!” Qin Jian said indifferently, sparing Cheng Yue a glance.

”How do you know he can hold his liquor?” An Hao wondered.

”Intuition!”

”...” Well, now he was even using intuition to sense things.

After the two had finished their noodles, Qin Jian went to pay the bill, while An Hao went straight to Cheng Yue.

Seeing him slumped over the table, looking unconscious, An Hao was startled and quickly gave Cheng Yue a gentle pat, ”Cheng Yue, are you okay? Cheng Yue?”

”It’s okay...” Cheng Yue lifted his head and saw An Hao, and asked groggily with bleary eyes, ”You guys... are you... leaving?”

”Yes. We’re heading back! Should I take you back to the school?” He was so unsteady on his feet that sending him wasn’t just a choice but a necessity.

”Um... okay...”

Qin Jian finished paying and came over, realizing, upon seeing Cheng Yue once more, that he had indeed drunk too much.

He could hardly open his eyes!

”I really don’t understand you all! Do you think drinking when you’re upset solves the problem? Won’t you still feel miserable when you wake up?” An Hao said, looking at Cheng Yue helplessly, and let out a sigh, ”Let’s take him back!”

Qin Jian supported Cheng Yue, and the three of them slowly left the noodle shop.

Sometime unbeknownst to them, a light rain had begun to fall from the sky, making the road slippery.

Concerned that An Hao might fall, Qin Jian told her to wait in the car directly.

I’ll take Cheng Yue back to the dorm by myself.

They hadn’t walked far when a wave of nausea hit Cheng Yue, and with a heave, he bent over and vomited.

Qin Jian frowned and sighed, ”Today is really not a good day for going out. One troublesome matter hasn’t been cleared up yet, and here comes another.”

Despite his words, he couldn’t just leave Cheng Yue alone.

So, he stood behind Cheng Yue, patting his back, as the smell of food mixed with alcohol and acid hit Qin Jian’s nose. He turned his head and fought the urge to gag until Cheng Yue was done, then he went back to the noodle shop to get a cup of water for him to rinse his mouth with.

”Feeling clearer now?” Seeing a hint of lucidity in his gaze, Qin Jian asked.

”A bit better,” said Cheng Yue, shaking his head and speaking dizzily.

”Then let’s go.”

Just as Cheng Yue was about to enter the school through the back gate, he rejected the idea, ”Let’s go, to the military compound!”

”You shouldn’t wander around when you’ve drunk too much,” Qin Jian advised.

”It’s not wandering without purpose, I need to find Yan Huan.” Rather than wait for another day, he might as well make it clear with Yan Huan today.

”Sorry, we’re not planning on going there today.”

”Then take me there.”

”Whatever it is you want to say, say it tomorrow. Your current state, alternating between clarity and confusion, is not suitable for talking to Yan Huan. Better wait until you are completely sober,” Qin Jian said.

”No, today,” Cheng Yue insisted.

”We’ll talk when you’re clear-headed.”

”No, today.”

”I’ve told you, we’re not going back there to stay tonight...”

”No, today.”
