Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Trying to Steal a Chicken But Ending Up Losing the Rice

Ruan Fangfang got hit on the head and it was so painful that she got dizzy.

This woman looks delicate, but she’s quite ruthless when it comes to hitting someone.

A flashlight hit her forehead and it was so painful that tears nearly flew out.

Gu Fangfang tried to scare An Hao but ended up getting hit herself. She couldn’t just passively take a beating, though being hit was one thing; she had to figure out a way to escape.

If the noise got too loud and the whole building came out, that would be real trouble.

She was just hiding outside, trying to scare An Hao.

So, Ruan Fangfang grabbed her own hair and pulled hard to retreat while kicking at An Hao’s legs, trying to make her let go quickly.

An Hao dodged her, filled with anger, and kept hitting.

Ruan Fangfang’s attempt to steal a chicken only to lose the rice proved futile; she couldn’t break free and didn’t dare to shout too loudly, so she took An Hao’s beating passively.

An Hao was silent, controlling the strength of her blows to make sure they hurt but without risking a life-threatening injury.

When she felt she had hit enough and her anger had subsided considerably, she gritted her teeth and said to Ruan Fangfang, ”I don’t know who you are, or why you wanted to scare me at this time! But it doesn’t matter whether you are human or a ghost, I will make you reveal your true face today.”

Having said this, An Hao yelled loudly, ”Help! Catch the ghost! There’s a ghost in our building!”

”Stop yelling. Just stop!” Ruan Fangfang was startled and hurriedly confessed, ”An Hao, it’s Fangfang. I was just joking with you, you can’t be serious, right?”

If it were someone else, the trouble might be lessened and she might let her go after the scare, but since it was Ruan Fangfang, An Hao definitely couldn’t let her off easily.

”You joke with me, but I’m in no mood for jokes.” An Hao kept shouting, ”Help... There’s a lunatic in our hallway...”

Originally, the residents of each household, hearing the noise in the corridor, all opened their doors and came out.

All of them gathered at An Hao’s front door, each holding a flashlight.

”Who is this person?”

”What are they pressing in their hand?”

”Isn’t this Staff Officer Qin’s house? I’ve seen him going in and out here every noon these days.”

”Are you... Staff Officer Qin’s family member?” someone asked.

”Yes,” An Hao said, ”I am Qin Jian’s family. I don’t usually live here. Today is my first day moving in. Then the power went out, right? A warrior was delivering a candle to leave at my door; I was just about to go get it when I looked up and saw this thing I’m holding in my hands.”

As her words ended, all the flashlight beams converged on Ruan Fangfang’s face. After seeing the things smeared on her face, they all said, ”Isn’t this just a prank? Why are you putting on this act in the middle of the night, during heavy rain and a blackout? Are you trying to scare people?”

”Exactly, this is just too malicious.”

”What kind of character is this!”

”Who is it? What happened?” a familiar voice echoed in the hallway and then, the person appeared around the corner of the staircase.

An Hao was still thinking that the voice sounded so much like that of Colonel Zhang’s wife, Zhang Lanxiang. Before she could finish her thought, Zhang Lanxiang indeed came up the stairs.

When Zhang Lanxiang saw An Hao, she was taken aback.

”Sister-in-law!” An Hao exclaimed joyfully, releasing Ruan Fangfang’s hair.

”Isn’t this my sister-in-law?” Zhang Lanxiang recognized An Hao at a glance, surprised to encounter her here after not seeing her for two years.
