Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1152: Chapter 1152: Generals abroad will not be subject to military orders.

”Yeah! How can the house radiate warmth without the lady of the house?” Qin Jian said with a smile, ”But from now on, it’ll be better! I’ll leave the house in your hands to manage.”

”Okay. You can count on me.” An Hao’s mind was already sketching out the happy scenes of their future life.

”So, let’s welcome the lady of the house today!” Qin Jian announced, then closed the bedroom door.

”If I’m not going back tonight, should I let Mom know?” An Hao said as she took off her wet clothes and pulled on one of Qin Jian’s from the cupboard.

”Hmm.” Qin Jian walked over to the desk, picked up the phone, and dialed Zhang Yun.

As soon as Zhang Yun answered and heard it was Qin Jian, she quickly asked, ”Have you finished your meeting? Go and see if An Hao is still at the hospital, and if she is, bring her back with you.”

”She’s right by my side. We’re not going back tonight,” Qin Jian explained briefly.

”How can that be okay?” Zhang Yun disapproved, ”Just the two of you? I’m not comfortable with that.”

”What’s there to worry about? We’re not children,” Qin Jian felt his mother’s worries were unnecessary, ”An Hao can take care of herself, and besides, I’m here too, aren’t I? You can’t expect her to stay idle just because she’s pregnant and have her by your side every day. That’s not feasible either.”

”It’s because you’re there that I’m worried.” Young people were like dry tinder to fire; she believed An Hao could take care of herself in daily life, but she didn’t trust what might happen when the two of them were alone.

”You’re overthinking it.” Even if they wanted something to happen between them, all they needed to do was close the upstairs door and keep the noise down—it would be the same.

But while he thought this, he didn’t voice it: ”Don’t worry. I’m the father of the child! They are two little lives; how could I do anything to harm my children?”

Zhang Yun considered and then replied, ”Then please show the willpower you as a soldier take pride in!”

”Don’t worry!” Qin Jian hung up the phone.

”Did Mom agree?” An Hao asked with a smile.

Qin Jian took her hand and gently pulled her into his embrace, lifting An Hao onto his lap and lowering his head to sniff the scent on her body, ”A soldier’s orders may be defied when he is far from home.”

An Hao giggled, ”I think you’re getting naughtier.”

”Naughty? I’m just fulfilling your wish, right?” The wish for a world of their own.

”Don’t push everything onto me. It’s not like you don’t have the desire to move out yourself,” An Hao chided.

Qin Jian raised his hand and affectionately stroked her hair, ”You’re quick-witted with words! I can’t win against you.”

”Then go and cook obediently,” An Hao said as she rubbed her stomach, which was growling with hunger, ”Go on! Your baby is hungry and wants to eat.”

”Alright.” Qin Jian set An Hao down beside the bed, took an umbrella from inside the house, and headed out, ”I’ll go get some food. Wait for me at home, okay?”

An Hao agreed.

Qin Jian left the house and went straight to the military canteen.

But he was too late, and there was no ready-to-eat food left in the canteen.

So he went straight to the kitchen, paid for two bowls of noodles, a cabbage, half a pound of meat, along with some seasoning, and carried everything back.

Upon entering, he apologized to An Hao, ”I was too late, there was nothing to eat in the canteen. I’ve bought some stuff; let’s make dumplings for dinner tonight.”

”Okay.” That didn’t faze An Hao; as long as she had the ingredients, she could make food.
