Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 968: Chapter 968: Called Back to the Northern Military Region

”Alliance Road Military District compound, we have a patient with a heart condition who just experienced severe chest pain five minutes ago, accompanied by cold sweats and rapid breathing. The preliminary diagnosis is a myocardial infarction.”

Fifteen minutes later, the ambulance arrived at the military compound.

On the ambulance, rescue personnel immediately took emergency measures and transported him to the nearest hospital within the military region.

After reaching the emergency room, following the full effort of the doctors, Ning Yibin was finally out of danger.

In the hospital ward.

Ning Yibin was peacefully sleeping, Zhang Yun clutched his hand tightly, tear tracks crisscrossing her face, ”It was too dangerous. If we had been just two minutes later, I can’t bear to imagine the consequences.”

”Mom, it’s okay, everything has passed now,” An Hao stood behind her, gently patting her shoulder to comfort her.

”We’re lucky to have you here. From now on, it seems your dad can’t be left alone.” Having been pulled back from the brink of death, who knew if they would be so fortunate next time.

”We’ll be more cautious in the future,” An Hao sighed deeply.

Today’s situation was indeed very perilous.

”In the future? Once you graduate, you’re certainly going to be with Qin Jian. Once you leave, only your dad and I will be left at home. Our days...” Zhang Yun stopped there, but the reality of the situation was already clear.

An Hao naturally understood his mother-in-law’s implication—she wanted her son to come back and stay by their side.

”I’ve already discussed this issue with Qin Jian tonight. He said he’s waiting for an opportunity, and I think this is it. I’ll talk to him again.”

”Coming back would be good. Come back to the Northern Military Region!” It was Zhang Yun’s long-time desire for her son to return.

The occurrence of today’s incident only strengthened her resolve.

Is there any difference for the children of the people whether they are in the Northern Military Region or the Northwest Military Region?

An Hao, having graduated from Military Medical University, was destined to be a soldier.

As for her, there was no such thing as following the army, her future goal was to stay at the affiliated hospital.

So, if Qin Jian could transfer back to the Northern Military Region, all the problems would be solved.

He would then be able to stay and take care of the elderly on both sides of the family.

An Hao made up his mind; he was going to bring this matter up for discussion with Qin Jian in the next few days.

Ning Yibin stayed in the hospital for a week. Once his condition stabilized, he could be discharged.

An Hao briefed Qin Jian on the situation here and hoped he would consider applying for a transfer back to the Northern Military Region.

Qin Jian was eager himself, but he couldn’t leave just yet.

With a heap of work on his hands, he couldn’t simply walk away because his father was ill.

After hanging up the phone, his mood plunged into a turmoil of conflict.

He stood at the window, deeply furrowing his brows as he looked out at the early winter scenery.

”Reporting,” the voice of a signalman sounded from outside the door. After receiving Qin Jian’s response, he pushed the door open, presenting a standard military salute, ”Chief of Staff, the regimental commander is waiting for you.”

”Right,” Qin Jian returned to his senses, closed the window, and strode after the signalman toward the regimental commander’s office.

As soon as Qin Jian entered the room, he saw Commander Lin pacing back and forth with his hands behind his back.

”Commander, you wanted to see me?”

”Come, sit down.” After Commander Lin and Qin Jian were sitting face-to-face, he began to speak, ”Today, the senior leadership asked me to have a talk with you to hear your thoughts. Do you want to transfer back to the Northern Military Region?”

”Me?” Qin Jian responded without hesitation, ”Of course, I very much want to go back.”

His family was there, along with relatives, friends, and his wife. All his connections were there.

Moreover, his father’s sudden illness and worrying health also weighed heavily on Qin Jian’s mind.

He certainly wanted to return to the Northern Military Region, but inter-regional transfers were not that simple.
