Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 960: Chapter 960: The Intention of Returning

An Hao brought the breakfast back to the dormitory, calling for Gu Shuangshuang and Zhang Juan to get up and eat.

Zhang Juan, holding her washbasin, went to the washroom to wash her face and brush her teeth. With her hair in a disheveled mess, Gu Shuangshuang climbed out of bed while An Hao sat on her own bunk, her complexion seeming somewhat off.

”What’s wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?” Gu Shuangshuang rarely saw An Hao in such a state, so she crawled over to touch her forehead.

”I’m fine,” An Hao said, gently pushing Gu Shuangshuang’s hand away. ”Cheng Yu came back.”

”Cheng Yu?!! How can she have the face to come back?” Gu Shuangshuang exclaimed in shock. ”Didn’t her father promise you before? Why would they let someone with mental issues return? Was that promise just lip service?”

An Hao shook her head, ”That shouldn’t be the case. I saw her parents and they both looked heartbroken when they mentioned her. Their apology seemed very sincere. As for how she came back, I’m not clear on that right now.”

”You mean her parents can’t handle her either?” Gu Shuangshuang exhaled a frustrated sigh. ”Having such an obstinate daughter, they are really unlucky.”

An Hao’s gaze rested on Gu Shuangshuang’s face, with the corners of her mouth slightly lifting.

”What does that mean?” Gu Shuangshuang glared at her. ”I’m not the same as Cheng Yu. I am stubborn, she is obsessed.”

Although she also caused her parents headaches, she was persistent in her own love without infringing on the interests of others.

”I didn’t say anything about you. Why such a big reaction?” An Hao laughed.

”But your look said it all.”

”Alright, it was just a joke.” An Hao immediately pulled the conversation back from the digression. ”Shuangshuang, I have a question on my mind, help me analyze it.”

”What question?”

”Cheng Yu’s target is Qin Jian. She initially chose to come to Military Medical University because she wanted to get close to me, and then unnoticed, close to Qin Jian.”

It seemed that she had understood Qin Jian and knew of his attitude toward unrelated women from the start.

So she didn’t approach Qin Jian directly but chose her as the entry point.

”Right, I know,” nodded Gu Shuangshuang, and then said, ”Now that the former Chief of Staff has understood his intentions, he naturally wouldn’t get close to her. So she definitely won’t go straight to Qin Jian, which is why she’s back here.”

This was obviously what An Hao wanted to ask.

”But what intentions could she have getting close to me now?” There was no way she would bring Cheng Yu to Qin Jian.

”Maybe you’re overthinking it, there might be no malicious intent behind her return? After all, both of you and your spouse have made your stance very clear, she, a third party, can’t just wedge herself between you.” In such a hopeless situation, she should give up, right?

”I really hope I’m overthinking it.” Cheng Yu was truly no ordinary person to fully understand.

Facing such an opponent always left one feeling like they were standing in fog, unable to see ahead.

And An Hao very much disliked this feeling.

”Let’s take it one step at a time. We’ll just have to be more cautious about her from now on.”

”Yeah.”

Not long after Lei Linxuan left, Cheng Yue came in a hurry.

Upon entering and seeing Cheng Yu laying out her belongings one by one, he immediately grabbed her hand, ”Sis, why have you come back?”
