Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 938: Chapter 938 Dismissal from Military Service

It can’t be said that Luo Gang directly caused this incident, but his abandonment of his comrade on the battlefield and his private escape were enough to strip him of the pride of being a soldier.

Such a selfish person, who could abandon his comrade and country, does not deserve to be a soldier in our military.

Therefore, he received a severe punishment, a discharge from military service.

After his father heard about the incident, he was inconsolably heartbroken.

To make amends for the grave mistake his son had committed, and in an effort to save his subordinates, he shed his own blood on the battlefield, his precious life.

Anyone who hears such a story can hardly remain unmoved.

After Cheng Nanfang finished speaking, his eyes were brimming with tears, ”Cheng Yu was wrong. She shouldn’t have been ambiguous with Luo Gang, not making her intentions clear. Whether to reject or accept, she was always indecisive. Luo Gang was also wrong. On the battlefield, he actually abandoned the great love for his country for a personal affair.”

”Their emotional intelligence is very low,” An Hao said indifferently, ”they can’t manage their own emotions well.”

Letting one’s emotions spread unchecked, if not restrained, leads to tragedy.

That was exactly what she had been like in her previous life.

She was thankful to the heavens for giving her the opportunity to be reborn, not knowing whether Cheng Yu, with his stubborn character, would be granted a second chance by the divine.

”But will that Luo Gang pose a threat to An Hao?” That was what Zhang Yun was most concerned about.

”Don’t worry. I’ll take the opportunity to talk with him. After all, Luo Gang was once a soldier.” His wrangling with Cheng Yu was one thing, but the important point was not to involve the innocent.

”Good. Then thank you, Uncle Cheng.” Nothing mattered more than a peaceful life to her.

After sending away Cheng Nanfang and his wife Qi Siyuan, An Hao’s heart was unable to calm down for a long time.

There’s a saying that character determines fate.

It’s absolutely true!

If people like Cheng Yu and Luo Gang did not harbor such strong obsessions, perhaps their lives would have been far more exciting than they are now.

Instead of being trapped in a cage, unable to escape, with their hearts constrained and struggling in agony.

Pitiful people often have their own detestable aspects, and with this thought, An Hao treasured her current life even more.

It wasn’t easy for Qin Jian to get to where he is today.

If one were to say that these trials and tribulations were consequences of rebirth, she would be willing to go through such hardships, until the end of time with Qin Jian.

...............

After three weeks of interning, she was about to face her first night shift.

Theoretically, interns don’t have to do night shifts.

But Yan Ye had gone out for academic exchanges during this period, and she was interning with Ma Mei along with Lei Linxuan.

Knowing that An Hao had no classes the next day, Saturday, Ma Mei arranged for her to take the night shift with Ruan Fangfang.

They weren’t particularly busy that night; there were no emergency surgeries and, apart from sorting out some medical records, they only needed to check on the wards at night.

During the day, Ma Mei had gone shopping to rest.

Come nightfall, she inevitably lacked energy; the evening was exceedingly quiet, and she felt that nothing was likely to happen.

So, she lay down early, feeling incredibly tired and weary, yet she couldn’t fall asleep.

Ma Mei tossed and turned in bed for a while, finally deciding to take two sleeping pills.

Such medication is not allowed to be taken by on-duty doctors.

But Ma Mei suffered from severe nervous debilitation, and without it, she couldn’t sleep, feeling groggy and dazed.

She might as well take some to get a bit of sleep.

Before sleeping, she made a point to instruct Ruan Fangfang to wake her if anything happened.

In the rest room.

Ruan Fangfang dozed at the desk, while An Hao was organizing medical records. The ward was silent; at one or two in the morning, everyone was deep in sleep.

And it all appeared so serene and peaceful!

Suddenly, a nurse burst through the door.
