Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 890: Chapter 891: The Flood Beasts

Cheng Yu had already anticipated this.

She wasn’t in a hurry, nor was she discouraged. She smiled and said to the little warrior, ”Could you please tell the chief of staff again that I will just stand outside the door waiting for him, and I won’t leave until I see him.”

”Alright then.”

The little warrior made another call to Qin Jian, ”Chief of staff, the lady at the door, Ms. Cheng Yue, insists on waiting. She said she will wait for as long as it takes for you to come out.”

”I understand,” Qin Jian hung up the phone once more.

It was the weather of August.

The scorching heat outside was unbearable, and Cheng Yu stood in the sun alone; her skin sizzled painfully.

If Qin Jian didn’t come out, she would just keep waiting.

She refused to believe that he could really be so heartless as to let a sick person stand in the scorching sun waiting for him endlessly.

But as it turned out, after waiting for a full hour, Qin Jian still did not show up.

Cheng Yu was now really beginning to doubt whether this man’s heart was made of steel!

Qin Jian finished reading the documents and stood up, stretching his body.

The dinner call had been sounded, and it was about time for him to go home.

Before leaving, he called the sentry to confirm whether Cheng Yu was still there.

The sentry reported that she was still standing in the sun, looking like she was about to faint.

Qin Jian picked up his military cap, preparing to leave. After thinking about it, he decided to make a call to An Hao.

Some matters, he was not suited to handle himself!

If he left it to his little wife, the situation might be different!

Ten minutes later, An Hao appeared at the entrance to the military base. Seeing Cheng Yu standing motionless under the sun, she felt an indescribable sensation in her heart.

She really had a lot of nerve and thick skin!

To actually dwell so much on someone else’s husband, without even a blush of shame!

In such scorching heat, she could still stand there without moving an inch.

What kind of twisted love was this that kept her persisting in such nonsensical troublemaking?

”Teacher Cheng, I must admire your willpower and endurance. If you hadn’t spoken, I would have a hard time believing that such behavior is what one would expect from a patient,” An Hao stood inside the gate, about two yards away from Cheng Yu.

Cheng Yu hadn’t expected Qin Jian to send An Hao out. Her heart instantly chilled, ”He really sees me as a calamity.”

”You’re wrong,” An Hao looked at Cheng Yu and said, ”He’s persuading you to give up on feelings that should never have been yours. Teacher Cheng, you are such an extraordinary woman, and there must be no shortage of men chasing after you. You have plenty of choices, I really don’t understand why you would fixate on Qin Jian.”

”You will never understand this feeling,” the torment of yearning without fulfillment had become sharper with the passing of time.

”I don’t understand, and I don’t want to. I am only here to tell you not to wait anymore. Take care of your health, that’s more important.” An Hao had wanted to speak more with her, but seeing her so stubborn, she gave up!

The task Cheng Yue had entrusted to her looked like it was going to end in failure!

Dizzy from the sun, Cheng Yu walked back in a daze.

She couldn’t remember how far she had walked; all she knew was that she was unable to extricate herself from this desolate and shameful mood.

”Why torture yourself like this? Exposing your heart for someone else to stab!” A man’s deep voice rang in Cheng Yu’s ears.

When she looked up again, the face that frightened and repelled her appeared before her eyes.

The eagle-like sharp gaze, the deep and dark eyes, and the terrifying scar that crossed his entire cheek on his square face—all made Cheng Yu feel uncomfortable, ”You really are a lingering spirit!”
