Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 874: Chapter 874: Something’s Off with the Mood

The train arrived in Guoqi Town in the afternoon, and as soon as Shuangshuang got off, she saw Qin Jian and An Hao standing shoulder to shoulder waiting for them.

”My darling, I’ve missed you so much!” Gu Shuangshuang shouted, throwing herself into An Hao’s embrace and hugging her tightly.

”Did you miss me, or did you miss Tian Niu?” An Hao teased her with a laugh.

”Of course I missed you, and our Tian Niu!” Gu Shuangshuang said happily, ”Do you know how difficult it was for me to come out? The moment I stepped on this land, I felt even more love for it than for my hometown!”

”Alright, stop with the nonsense! Save your sweet talk for Tian Niu!”

”I’m just so happy! I haven’t talked this much in a long time.” Facing Duan Aihua’s face every day at home, Gu Shuangshuang felt she was almost becoming speechless.

After hugging An Hao, Gu Shuangshuang greeted Qin Jian, and the three of them chatted and laughed, completely forgetting about Li Zhi off to the side.

”Sister Shuangshuang, Little Sister! I’ve been standing here for half a day as a living person, and you just totally ignored me!” Li Zhi said with a mock resentful expression.

”How come he’s here too?” An Hao exclaimed in surprise.

”He escorted me here! If he hadn’t accompanied me, I probably wouldn’t have even been able to leave the house!” said Gu Shuangshuang.

”But now the problem is, how do you plan to accommodate him?” An Hao asked.

”I really hadn’t thought about that problem!” Only after escaping did Gu Shuangshuang realize that Li Zhi’s arrival was a nuisance.

But after all, it was Li Zhi who had helped her escape. Would it not be terribly ungrateful to ditch him now?

However, it was clearly not feasible to leave Li Zhi at An Hao’s. Therefore, the only solution seemed to be for her to take Li Zhi to Tian Niu’s military unit.

Seeing the changes in Gu Shuangshuang’s expression, Li Zhi suddenly got a bad feeling, ”Gu Shuangshuang, you’re not thinking of ditching me, are you?”

”Don’t worry, I definitely won’t!” Gu Shuangshuang assured him, ”However long I stay here, you will stay as well.”

”That’s just what I wanted to hear,” Li Zhi said relievedly.

Li Zhi and Gu Shuangshuang stayed at Qiang Jian’s house for one night, and the next evening, Xiaojin, a warrior from Tian Niu’s unit, hurriedly arrived at the corps to take Gu Shuangshuang back.

He was leading a training team that would be able to reach the camp that night.

Having been apart for half a year, he missed Gu Shuangshuang terribly and was eager to see her as soon as possible.

Xiaojin took Gu Shuangshuang and Li Zhi to the camp, but he worried about where to arrange their lodging.

There were no spare rooms left in the military; Gu Shuangshuang could stay in a room with Tian Niu, but what about Li Zhi?

Seeing his dilemma, Gu Shuangshuang told him not to worry about it for now and wait for Tian Niu to return and decide.

After dinner, around nine o’clock, Tian Niu, leading the training team, arrived back at the camp.

Without catching his breath, he dismissed the team and headed straight for his own room.

”Commander, you haven’t summarized this training exercise for us yet!” A few company commanders who had also participated in the training encircled Tian Niu.

”What’s there to summarize? Don’t you know whether you trained well or not? Do we have to summarize everything?” Tian Niu tossed off a response and turned to leave.

”Commander, you seem off today!” One observant company commander quickly noticed Tian Niu’s eagerness, ”I remember the last time you were like this was when your wife came to visit! Don’t tell me your wife is here again?”
