Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 753: Chapter 753 The First Encounter

The knife and wallet had flown far away, and as people saw it, they swarmed over and captured him together.

”Let’s go! Take him to the police station!”

The thief was taken away, and then a delicate and fair hand extended a wallet to An Hao, ”Is this your wallet?”

”Yes,” An Hao, catching his breath, took the wallet and looked up to see a beautiful face, with delicate makeup adorning her features and black, seaweed-like curly hair, dressed in a dark grey wool coat, with a pair of shiny black high heels on her feet.

This extraordinary temperament and the composed reaction to the situation were definitely not something an average person possessed.

”Thank you,” An Hao’s eyes briefly met hers as he accepted the wallet and politely expressed his gratitude, ”I saw it; it was you who tripped him with your leg! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to get my wallet back.”

”No need to be polite! I just couldn’t stand by and do nothing,” the other party said with a light smile, her shiny black eyes emanating a very calm emotion, ”Be more careful when you’re out on the street. If you’re not going far, just carry some change with you; there’s no need to carry a wallet, it’s too eye-catching.”

”You’re absolutely right; I was careless today.”

The woman smiled and, without saying anything else, turned and left.

”Hey! Wait! I haven’t properly thanked you...” An Hao hadn’t finished speaking when the other person had already disappeared into the crowd.

An Hao and Gu Shuangshuang returned to the stall to buy the prepared chicken and started walking back. Along the way, she couldn’t help but ask Gu Shuangshuang, ”Guess what her job is?”

”Military!” Gu Shuangshuang answered, ”You saw the reaction of the ordinary people; they wouldn’t be that composed, right? I don’t know if you noticed her eyes, the kind of calmness isn’t something ordinary people can manage.”

An Hao shook her head, ”No! A soldier wouldn’t have such tender and fair hands!”

”An art soldier then!” she said indifferently, ”Alright, alright! That happened ages ago, why are you still hung up on it? You’re not planning on looking for her and treating her to a meal, are you?”

”Of course not!”

”Then why think so much? Let’s hurry up. I didn’t dare to eat much this morning just to save room for your tasty dish, and after chasing the thief for so long, I’m starving.”

”Alright — ! I must satisfy this little request of yours!”

.....................

At the market exit, Cheng Yue, with Li Zhi and Wang Chaoqian leaning casually against the wall waiting for someone, saw the woman in the gray coat walking slowly towards them. Cheng Yue went up to meet her, calling out affectionately, ”Sis!”

”Hmm. You all came.” Cheng Yu smiled and nodded, ”Let’s go. I bought some fruit; I’ll make you a salad when we get back.”

”What’s a salad?” Zhang Chaoqian curiously asked.

”It’s some foreign thing, probably something to do with fruit,” Li Zhi chimed in from the side.

”As if you know!”

Listening to these two bickering made Cheng Yue quietly laugh, ”After all these years, you two really haven’t changed a bit. Still as mouthy as ever!”

”Sis, don’t bother with them, they are just being annoying,” Cheng Yue said as he listened to their banter, his ears practically forming calluses.

Cheng Yu slightly pursed her lips in a smile but didn’t say anything.

It was Cheng Yue who asked first, ”Sis, why are you not staying comfortably at home? If mom hadn’t sent me a telegram with your address, I would have had no idea you were coming here.”
