Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 733: Chapter 733: Put on the Agenda

”Sister-in-law, you still remember me!” Dr. Wang hastened her steps and approached, taking Zhang Yun’s hand, ”Sister-in-law, it’s been some years since we last met.”

”Indeed! It must have been about five years since our last farewell, right?” Zhang Yun asked.

”Yes. During those difficult years at home, we relied a lot on sister-in-law and big brother,” Dr. Wang said, ”Finally, that decade of turmoil is behind us. It’s a miracle that any of us survived.”

”Let’s not talk about that. You’re all national talents, and the country lost out due to the troubles you faced during those turbulent times. How are you doing now? Working as a doctor at this hospital?”

Dr. Wang shook her head: ”I work in traditional Chinese medicine at a TCM hospital. My other half works at this hospital, and I came to see him a bit early today after getting off work. Sister-in-law, what happened to you? Are you feeling unwell?”

Zhang Yun introduced Qin Jian and An Hao to her, and then explained their purpose, after which Dr. Wang understood: ”Are you looking to have a grandchild?”

”I don’t know,” Zhang Yun was also anxiously waiting when suddenly she thought of having her pulse read by a practitioner of Chinese medicine, ”Little Wang, could you please take her pulse to see if she’s pregnant?”

Dr. Wang could be described as a national treasure in Chinese medicine, and Zhang Yun trusted her deeply.

”Mom! The results will be out in a few dozen minutes, why bother Dr. Wang?” An Hao felt a bit embarrassed.

Without even knowing whether she was pregnant or not, she had the whole family anxious.

”It’s no trouble at all. Let me take a look at you. Even if I can’t discern it, it’s not a problem. If you want to have a child, I can help get your body in tip-top shape,” Dr. Wang said with a smile.

So, the few of them found a quiet place, and Dr. Wang commenced taking An Hao’s pulse.

After diagnosing for a while, she switched to the other hand, and finally shook her head: ”She’s not pregnant.”

”Ah?” Zhang Yun’s anticipation of joy vanished in an instant, ”It seems I am happy for nothing again. It would have been better to listen to An Hao and not come.”

”No! It wasn’t a wasted trip,” Dr. Wang said with a slight frown, ”Your daughter-in-law has a constitution that’s not very conducive to pregnancy.”

”What?” Zhang Yun felt as if she had plunged into an ice cellar, ”How could this be? That’s impossible, isn’t it? Qin Jian isn’t getting any younger, and if my daughter-in-law doesn’t get pregnant soon, I really will...”

As she spoke, Zhang Yun’s eyes turned red with urgency.

An Hao, upon hearing this, felt her blood freeze, pondering what exactly was happening now.

Heavenabove, this isn’t a joke!

Doctors in her previous life had never mentioned any issue with her constitution preventing pregnancy.

She looked up at Qin Jian with a blank gaze; he furrowed his brows but gradually relaxed them when he saw An Hao looking at him and said, ”Don’t worry. Don’t put yourself under mental pressure.”

”Goodness! What’s with this reaction? I didn’t say you can’t get pregnant, I said it’s not easy for you! You have a cold uterus, - your hands and feet must usually be icy, right? Your vital energy is also weak, aren’t you also having stomach issues? I’ll write you a prescription, follow it for three to five months, and conceiving should be possible with normal intercourse. Remember, no more intentional contraception,” Dr. Wang said.

”Are you sure she can get pregnant?” Zhang Yun asked?

”Absolutely! Sister-in-law, you have to trust me!” Zhang Yun quickly expressed her gratitude, ”Young lady, thank you so much! Coming here was the right decision today!”

The test results came out, and An Hao was not pregnant.

Zhang Yun, although disappointed, did not want to put too much pressure on her son and daughter-in-law; she still managed a forced smile on the way home.

After some consideration, An Hao thought that waiting to have a child until after graduation might be too cruel to Qin Jian and her in-laws.

As a result, she decided to stop using contraception.

She would let nature take its course, and when the time came, they would welcome the little life.

Meanwhile, Qin Jian decided to make getting his wife pregnant a priority on his agenda!
