Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 712: Chapter 712 Spreading Rumors about Wife Suppression

”That’s good to hear,” Ning Yibin nodded. ”Looks like Gu Shuangshuang’s temperament is just like her mother’s!”

”Isn’t that the truth!” Zhang Yun shook her head with a sigh, ”Such a fiery spirit! And she’s so opinionated, always does whatever comes to her mind. Who knows what will happen after she and Tian Niu get married.”

”I think Tian Niu is a pretty honest kid. Gu Shuangshuang likes him too. If they really do get married, their life should be pretty good,” Ning Yibin was quite optimistic about them.

”It’s just that her mother is a bit of a headache. But, it’s normal! Which parents don’t think about their children?” After sighing for a while, Zhang Yun became reflective.

”Mm. Luckily when our son came back to us, he had already found a partner. Otherwise, I think you would have been beside yourself with worry,” Ning Yibin said, taking a sip of his tea.

”You old man, always bringing up what’s best left unmentioned!” Zhang Yun carefully glanced at An Hao.

Previously, when Ning Yibin was hospitalized, she decided that since An Hao was young and Qin Jian was older, she thought about finding another partner for Qin Jian.

As a result, they discussed it in the hospital room, but An Hao overheard them outside the door.

This matter, every time she thought about it, made her feel awkward, not sure if An Hao had gotten over it.

Seeing Zhang Yun’s cautious and worried demeanor, An Hao couldn’t help but laugh: ”Mom, you don’t have to look at me like that. It’s all in the past, I don’t mind,” she said.

Zhang Yun breathed a sigh of relief, ”That’s great to hear. I was really worried you would be upset.”

”No. I won’t be,” An Hao smiled.

”But, speaking of which, why did Jianzi wait until his thirties to get married?” Zhang Yun had always been puzzled but had never asked.

”Isn’t it because of that military rumor about the ’Cold-faced King of Hell’ or something?” Ning Yibin had heard about this before and was quite curious about it at the time.

He never imagined that this person would turn out to be his own son.

”Really? But I think Jianzi had a lot of romantic opportunities!” Zhang Yun had heard bits and pieces about her son’s past.

”Jinxing spouses!” Qin Jian straightforwardly stated the reason.

”Jinxing spouses? Don’t talk nonsense!” Zhang Yun glanced at An Hao and said, ”An Hao, don’t believe these rumors. We communists don’t believe in such things.”

Of course, An Hao didn’t believe it. If it were true, why could she still jump from a building after divorcing Qin Jian in her previous life?

Wasn’t it said that after divorcing, the curse would no longer affect the spouse?

After her death in her previous life, An Hao didn’t know what happened afterward, nor did she know what became of Song Yueqin. She said she was very happy with Qin Jian. But was Song Yueqin really cursed to death?

She simply didn’t know.

”Mom! I don’t believe in that!” An Hao said.

”Right, that’s what you shouldn’t believe,” Zhang Yun said indignantly, ”I don’t know where that malicious rumor came from, just to harm our Qin Jian!”

Zhang Yun’s words reminded An Hao, ”Right, where did this rumor come from anyway?”

In her previous life, it was because of this rumor that she ended up with Qin Jian.

But the stepmother Bai Xue said that Qin Jian had an older son serving as an officer in the military, and it was because of the spouse-jinxing rumor that it was hard for him to find a wife in the city.

She didn’t know how the rumor spread in the village as well, but Bai Xue seized upon it, consulted a charlatan, and they were told that their birth charts were perfectly matched, so the marriage was arranged.

In her last life, she never found out where the spouse-jinxing rumor originated, and in this life, she still did not know, nor had she ever thought to ask him.

Now that Zhang Yun mentioned it, she paid attention to it.
