Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 664: Chapter 664: Dare to hit on his wife

Qin Jian immediately left his game of chess and went upstairs, only to see An Hao lying on the bed, her face somewhat pallid.

”What’s wrong? You look so pale. Are you feeling unwell?”

”It’s nothing. Just my period! My stomach will feel better after I lie down for a bit,” An Hao said, frowning.

”Laying on your stomach must be uncomfortable, why don’t you lie flat and I’ll rub it for you.”

An Hao rolled over to lie flat, and Qin Jian’s large hand slipped under her clothes, gently massaging her flat and soft lower abdomen.

An Hao felt much better from the massage, and her complexion also eased up quite a bit.

Her mind had been focused solely on her stomachache, but now that she felt much better, she remembered the duel notice Cheng Yue had asked her to deliver: ”Qin Jian, there is something I want to talk to you about.”

Qin Jian nodded, indicating for her to continue.

”These days, there’s been a guy at school who keeps pestering me and pursuing me!” An Hao hadn’t finished her sentence when she felt Qin Jian’s hand pause abruptly; his gaze, which had been soft, became sharp in an instant.

”Who is he? How has he been pestering you?” Qin Jian asked, his voice cold.

The sudden change in Qin Jian startled An Hao: ”Do you have to react so strongly? You’re scaring me; I’m almost afraid to speak!”

Nonsense! How could his reaction not be strong?

Out of 365 days a year, how many times does he get to see his own wife?

When he’s not around, there’s actually someone daring to lay a finger on his wife, how could he not be angry?

”Tell me the details,” Qin Jian’s face darkened, looking very displeased.

”That’s just some shameless bastard! I don’t even know why he’s taken a fancy to me and keeps bothering me. Later, when I told him I was married, the guy must have been kicked in the head by a donkey because he actually wanted to send you a duel notice! I could have come back home for lunch today, but I got caught up with him at the school gates. It just so happened that An Ping and Song Fei were there, and they beat him up. Even so, he still didn’t give up. Since it came to this, I agreed, and I brought back his duel notice to you,” An Hao sighed deeply, what a mess this was.

”Good! That’s the way it should be! Where is the duel notice? Show it to me!” Qin Jian said.

”Oh, it’s in my bag downstairs.” An Hao scrambled up from the bed, ”I’ll go with you.”

Receiving a duel notice seemed very strange to An Hao. To Qin Jian, it was nothing out of the ordinary.

All males in the world are belligerent creatures, their blood boiling in their veins.

In the army, it’s common to settle issues through one-on-one combat.

What irritated Qin Jian was the audacity of this ignorant fool to challenge him over his wife.

As a soldier, he should care for the civilians.

But as a husband, he must protect the rights of himself and his wife.

If a man can’t even take care of his own wife, what kind of man is he?

Qin Jian and An Hao went downstairs and when they reached the living room, they saw the old couple wearing reading glasses, engrossed in the very duel notice Cheng Yue had sent to Qin Jian.

”Dad, Mom! How could you...?” An Hao half-said, her words trailing off, but the meaning was clear, this was private correspondence that they read without permission.

More importantly, it was a challenge letter.

A challenge letter that involved her; who knows what was written inside, would her in-laws’ impression of her change after reading it?

Zhang Yun took off her glasses, her expression very displeased: ”This letter had fallen on the floor. I picked it up. First, it wasn’t in an envelope. Second, it was half-open. I didn’t know what it was, so I opened it and took a look with your father.”
