Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 603: Chapter 603: Probably Danger to Life

”What does the letter say?” An Hao leaned in closer.

Qin Jian handed the letter to her, ”Qin Feng had a baby. She’s in the maternity hospital. This morning, Song Fei left this at the door.”

Perhaps also to avoid rejection by the Ning Family.

So, secretly placing the items there was like passing a message.

”They probably don’t know you’re back.” After An Hao finished reading, she folded the letter and put it back into the envelope, then looked at Qin Jian and said, ”How about I go to the hospital later? I can visit her on your behalf.”

”Don’t go.” Zhang Yun didn’t want them to have any entanglements with the Qin Family.

They had specially made a trip back for the Qin Family’s affairs before the New Year. Zhang Yun actually felt quite reluctant. The Qin Family’s house was full of trouble, never peaceful.

She was getting old and wanted to live a peaceful life in her old age.

Besides, thirty years of hatred couldn’t be dissolved in an instant.

An Hao looked at Qin Jian, seeing him hesitating. She knew Qin Jian also couldn’t let go of the Qin Family.

After all, it had been half a year since he left, and he was unclear about the current state of Qin Ru Hai’s lung disease. The letter mentioned that Qin Feng had a severe hemorrhage during childbirth, almost losing her life.

She was still unconscious.

The situation was very critical when it was time for the delivery, and they found a car overnight, spending a lot of money to get Qin Feng to the city hospital.

If it weren’t because they had come over last night, it was likely that by now, both the child and the mother would be gone.

Now, the child was born, but the mother’s fate was still uncertain.

The Qin Family must be feeling anxious too, right?

”Qin Jian should go too.” Although Ning Yibin also harbored hatred for the Qin Family, after all, his son was raised in their home for thirty years.

Just like them, even though they knew Ning Bo was Li Junping’s son, when they thought about the past in the dead of night, they still couldn’t escape that faint sense of sorrow.

Humans are not plants; who can be heartless?

He believed that Qin Jian felt guilty, and he also believed that the Qin Family had feelings for Qin Jian.

”Old Ning, when will this ever end?” Zhang Yun became displeased.

Ning Yibin patted her shoulder, ”Okay, okay. You still think of Ning Bo often, don’t you? Shouldn’t you allow your son to worry about the Qin Family?”

”I really owe them in my past life,” mumbled Zhang Yun a few times, then shut up and stopped talking about the matter.

After breakfast, Qin Jian and An Hao bought some milk powder and some clothes for the baby, then they headed to the hospital.

They asked for the ward at the maternity ward nurse station and went straight up.

Pushing open the slightly ajar door, An Hao saw that there were quite a few people in the room.

Song Fei was by the bed, watching over the unconscious Qin Feng, Li Junping was holding the baby and feeding it milk powder, and Qin Ru Hai was fidgeting with his tobacco pipe, not smoking it.

In the corner of the ward, Qin Fen was sitting on a stool, dozing off with his head tilted.

Upon hearing the door, Qin Ru Hai lifted his head and saw Qin Jian standing at the doorway, his eyes lit up with excitement: ”Jianzi... you’re back.”

At that sound, everyone in the room looked up.

The arrival of Qin Jian seemed to bring the backbone to the family; Li Junping burst into tears the moment she saw him: ”Jianzi... Your sister, your sister might not make it. Ah.”

”What do you mean ’might not make it’? Mom, you can’t talk nonsense if you don’t know,” Qin Fen woke up from his drowsiness and approached Qin Jian, saying, ”She lost a lot of blood during childbirth. Her life was saved... but she may end up in a vegetative state for life.”

”What?” An Hao gasped, a chill running through her. This really was a troublesome matter.
