Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 484: Chapter 484: No Appetite for Food or Drink

School was busy, so An Hao didn’t stay at home; she still lived on campus.

During the days following Qin Jian’s departure, An Hao felt very down, though she could still focus during class, once class was over, she would wilt, her mind playing memories of her days with Qin Jian like a movie.

Her mood was terrible, sapping her interest in everything.

Even at lunchtime, in the bustling cafeteria, she would zone out; even her favorite sweet and sour ribs had lost their appeal.

”An Hao, are you going to eat or not? If not, I might as well eat it for you,” Gu Shuangshuang, sitting opposite her, poked the pieces of meat in her lunchbox with chopsticks, salivating at the thought.

The head chef in the cafeteria had truly outdone himself today.

”Go ahead, eat it! Have it all. I’m not feeling hungry,” An Hao pushed her lunchbox in front of Gu Shuangshuang and said listlessly, ”Just don’t mind the saliva from where I’ve eaten.”

”Would I? You haven’t even touched it with your chopsticks,” Gu Shuangshuang picked up a piece and put it in her mouth, then made a satisfied noise, ”Delicious beyond belief!”

An Hao envied Gu Shuangshuang’s carefree demeanor.

”An Hao, you can’t keep this up, can you? Look how much weight you’ve lost since Qin Jian left, look at this, your face is so thin, your chin is almost becoming a point,” Gu Shuangshuang said, then picked out a meaty rib from the lunchbox and held it to An Hao’s mouth, ”Ah~ Open up!”

An Hao didn’t want to eat, but since Gu Shuangshuang brought the food to her mouth, she reluctantly took a bite.

The ”delicious beyond belief” Gu Shuangshuang mentioned tasted like chewing wax when it reached An Hao’s mouth.

Barely managing to finish the bite, Gu Shuangshuang picked up another with her chopsticks and brought it to An Hao’s mouth, ”Hey, tell me, where else could you find such a good friend like me, who even brings the food to your mouth? When you go back, you have to tell the Chief of Staff he has to treat me to a big meal at the Friendship Hotel when he comes back.”

”He won’t know when to treat you! He doesn’t even know when he can come back,” An Hao said.

”Well, okay then,” Gu Shuangshuang mumbled as she continued to eat. ”I wonder where Tian Niu has gone? There are no classes tomorrow; I was planning to go to the military base to find him and see which group he’ll leave with.”

At this, An Hao’s wandering mind snapped back to the present, ”Tian Niu has already gone. Didn’t you know?”

”Gone?” Gu Shuangshuang was stunned, ”When did he leave?”

”Just a few days ago, he took the train to the Northwest with Qin Jian. They were assigned to the same place.”

As soon as An Hao finished speaking, Gu Shuangshuang was like someone struck by lightning, stupefied on the spot.

It took her a while to come to her senses, then she slammed her palm down on the table, ”Great! I’ve been played by that stupid cow! He left without saying goodbye! I’m furious! I just want to send my regards to his whole family.

All this time she had been thinking about him, even considering what to give him before he left, and then, just like that, the guy up and left without saying a word to her.

What was this?

What exactly was their relationship?

Gu Shuangshuang was so angry she wanted to swear, and her previously good appetite was completely spoiled.

Tian Niu, well done! If she ever again stooped to speak to him, she’d take his last name!
